When El got back into the room that her father was hiding out in, Sirius was sitting alone on the antique bed, and Harry and Hermione were standing behind the piano. Remus saw her come in first and walked towards the half-broken door.

"Promise me now that you won't let anger get the best of you. This is a man that has spent most of his life somewhere he shouldn't have been." El gave him a dirty look, "I'll promise you when I hear his story for myself, thanks." She most definitely didn't like Remus at that moment in time, but that was something she'd fix later on. He so desperately wanted to give El a months detention right there on the spot.

When El paced inside, Sirius looked up from his trance and stood up to greet her. He wobbled a little as his thin and malnourished body couldn't take anymore. El felt worried for a slight second, and without thinking, she rushed to catch him before he fell. Her hands wrapped entirely around his arms, and she took a deep, shaky breath in; he smelt vile.

"Are you alright, darling? I understand I gave you a bit of a fright." He was speaking to her so fatherly. He was courteous towards her, which made her feel somewhat confused; was he doing this to try and win her over? Did he genuinely mean to be loving? "I'm fine. Just tell me why you believe you're innocent before I use the Crucio curse on you." The words fell automatically out of her mouth; she couldn't help it. Fortunately, he didn't take her comment to heart since a smirk formed on his mouth. "Fire inside of you just like your old man." El didn't reply to his comment, still holding on to his arms like his own personal pair of handcuffs. "Sit." She instructed him. As he sat back down onto the bed, she caught a glimpse of his tattoos that cascaded down his chest. Latin letters and symbols to which she had no idea what they meant. "Where to begin..." Sirius trailed off, his eyebrows furrowed as he stared to the side of her.

Halloween night, 1981

Sirius raced round to Pettigrew's hiding place as fast as he could on his flying motorbike, but it was empty when he had gotten there. No furniture, no clothes and no sign of a struggle. He said he'd be there, that he had no intention of going anywhere in fear of being captured. Thinking the worst, Sirius hurried round to his best friend James Potter's house in an alarming state. The place where he was brought up for a short time was destroyed and seemed blown up. "Please be alright." Sirius nearly cried to himself as he stormed through the open door and into the equally destroyed living room. There lay a still James Potter.

Dead.

His heart shattered as he picked up his adored friend in his arms, tears flooding down his face. He was too late. After everything they'd been through, the laughs, the adventures, the pranks. All gone and never coming back.

After a moment of composure, he ran upstairs in hopes of finding Lily and Harry hiding somewhere but was greeted with death instead. Lily lay there, blood trickling from her head, dead, on the floor of his Godson's room.

He slowly stepped in, not being able to bear the sight. Lily Potter, the clever girl James had fancied ever since their first year, was now gone. He looked to the cot, and a flicker of hope ignited inside of him. Harry was alive but with a lightning bolt shape scar now on his forehead.

Running over, he scooped him up in his arms with his tiny blanket and whispered into Harry's head, "You're safe with me now, Harry. I'll make sure that you remember your parents and how brave they were for you." He carried him over Lily's body, eyes flooding down his face whilst covering baby Harry's eyes. "You can have a sister if you want; her name's Elektra." Baby Harry snuggled into his Godfather's chest as Sirius carried him down the stairs. When he got back to the living room, he took one last look at his best friend, "I promise Prongs, your son will grow up to know how strong you were. How much you both loved him. Thank you for everything you have done for me, brother." Sirius said through clenched teeth, trying to not let out any more tears in front of Harry.
