Remus rushed through the halls of Hogwarts furiously towards the exit, his cloak flapping behind him as he paced past a group of rather scared looking students. The happy, calm and full of spirit Professor was now raging with venomous anger.
El on the other hand was down at Hagrid's with Newt and Harry, having some very calming tea and chatting about all sorts! Newt was happily sat in between Hagrid and El, chewing on a dried up cockroach. "Are you going to the ball, Hagrid?" Harry asked, as the tall giant nodded eagerly. "I am indeed! Best time of the year! Who are ya' both going with?" El and Harry glanced awkwardly at each other, before El turned her attention to Newt instead. "No one as of yet. I usually tag along with Jada but this year I think I might change that." Hagrid became overly excited at the idea, "Who do ya' have in mind?" But Harry was sat awkwardly in his seat, sipping on his tea to seem busy. El shook her head mischievously at Hagrid, not giving in to his questions.
Knock, knock, knock!
Hagrid jumped suddenly in his seat at the urgent knocking on the door, turning around to peer out of the window, "Ah! It's Professor Lupin. Excuse me, you two." Hagrid announced as he walked happily towards the door. El squirmed in her seat as she was bracing herself for what was to come. She knew he'd just found out what had happened, she presumed it was due to Sirius after she had sent him a letter explaining what had occurred. It couldn't have been Dumbledore's doing, as he had no idea that they had escaped the walls of the school a few days ago... or did he?
"Excuse me, Hagrid. I was told Elektra was here. I need to see her, quite urgently." Remus insisted, trying to peer into the door. He was out of breath from clearly running down the hill. "Of course, Professor! She's just in here, Harry too." The two men moved into the crowded hut as El downed the last of her tea and popped Newt back into her pocket. "Harry." Remus nodded slightly acknowledging him, before his soft eyes turned into daggers at El. "Outside. Now." He turned around towards the door, nodding his head at Hagrid (who looked rather apologetic at El.) She rolled her eyes at Harry, politely thanked Hagrid for the tea and followed an angry Remus out of the door.
When she got behind the pumpkin patch, luckily not within hearing distance from Hagrid's open window, Remus blurted out, "What in the name of Godric do you think you're doing sneaking out to go to Hogsmeade? When I gave back that map, I specifically said that wasn't to happen otherwise I'd be taking it off of you. So hand it over." Remus outstretched his arm, trying to control his temper in front of her. El put her hands casually into her pockets, "No." She simply stated, not wanting to deal with Remus today. He looked at her like she had gone mad, which might have been somewhat true. Remus took a deep breath in, "Don't act smart with me, Elektra. Hand it over." El took a few steps back, still trying to be as casual as she could possibly be, "I said, no." Remus' eyes narrowed, as he exhaled the breath he was holding in, "Hand it over or it's a detention every day until the Christmas holidays start." El took another few steps back, smirking at the man who had raised her, "See you in detention then... Sir." Just as Remus was about to explode with rage from Elektra's poor mannerism, a shuffling came from the side of them within the forest. Remus quickly got out his wand and despite boiling over from the rage within, he stepped in front of El to protect her.
"You really are a pain in the arse sometimes, my darling." Sirius' voice jokingly called out from behind a tree as he transformed from his dog form. He had obviously been following one of them! "What are you doing here?" Remus calmed himself, putting his wand back into his pocket. Elektra ran over, and hugged him tightly as he did the same, both happy to be in each other's company again. Remus however felt a twinge of envy whilst watching the girl he had raised, more excited to be in Sirius' presence than his. Although he assumed it was because Remus was the only one trying his hardest to control her attitude. "Getting out of the house. I know these grounds too well, so they're safer here than I am wandering Hogsmeade." Sirius announced, still holding on tight to his daughter. He stared at Remus with an expressionless face, but Remus was still somewhat angered. "Are you going to tell your daughter what she did was wrong?" He asked stubbornly, pointing slightly at El who had turned to glare at him. Sirius patted his daughter's shoulder, "I'm sorry, darling. I had to tell him you see. But next time, I'd recommend using the tunnel under the-" Sirius began to share some secrets from his youth to his daughter but Remus interjected all too suddenly, "Sirius!" Remus shouted angrily which turned Sirius' smirk into an angered straight line. El braced herself letting go of her father. Sirius took a few steps forward, facing his old best friend. "Live a little, would you? We were fifteen once and did the exact same thing. If I knew twenty years ago that you'd end up being a stubborn, no fun, bastard then I would have made sure your name was never put on it in the first place." It was the first time El had heard her father raise his voice. Remus looked like he had taken a knife to his gut, staying motionless at the sight of his best friend calling out his poor actions. "I'm just doing my job, Sirius." Remus muttered, looking terribly upset deep down but seemed as if he were trying to hide it on the outside for El's sake. "Your job! As a Professor or an overly harsh parental figure?" Sirius snapped, walking back to where his daughter was cowering nervously, pulling El into a warm hug and offering her some comfort. She couldn't figure out if it were purely for pettiness in front of Remus or he actually wanted to hug her, but she tried not to think about it.
