Jake's POV

My footsteps echoed on wooden planks as I walked towards the edge of the dock. Butterflies roamed freely through my insides; why'd she have to pick such a romantic spot? I mean, sure it was nice and all, but it just made me jumpy and nervous.

I spotted her long teal hair waving in the soft breeze. She looked so serene, with the moonlight outlining her features. She turned her head to the sound of me approaching her, and smiled. A grin crept up my lips as I sat next to her. Our legs dangled off the edge of the dock, and I took in every detail of the night;

The full moon shining on the lake

Your soft hand in mine

Your beautiful eyes lighting up through smeared mascara

We made easy conversation, laughing at all the right moments and not staying on one subject for too long. I was captivated by her smile and genuine laugh.

I must have been quiet a bit too long, because an awkward silence crept between us. I looked down at my feet; I was next to you and you were right there next to me, then I said, "GIRL!" She looked at me a bit surprised, and then her expression softened as I continued, "If you're wondering if I want you to," she raised an eyebrow. "I want you to," she still looked confused. "So make the move," she blushed and tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. "Cause I ain't got all night," she looked up at me with those dark eyes, and then straightened up. I felt her soft lips on mine, completing the scene. She smiled through the kiss, and we didn't separate for what seemed like an eternity.

We walked out of the movie theatre on a mid-summer day. We had just watched Titanic, and everyone around us had been crying. But for some reason, we hadn't. It was my turn to pick somewhere to go, and we went to the first place that came to mind; Best Buy. I admit, it was a stupid choice, but we had a good time.

One day, while we were texting, she invited me over to her place for dinner. I thought for a bit. This could be the perfect chance. Her family will be right there to watch.

You: Of course I'll come!

Princess❤️: Really? Great! Can't wait to see you tonight!

I arrived at the front door and rang the doorbell. I heard a commotion coming from inside the house. Hailey swung open the door with a smile on her face. I smiled back and my gaze flitted over her shoulder to Zander glaring at me. I guess he still didn't approve of us being together. Oh well, he was going to have to get used to me being around eventually.

I walked in and admired their large house. A delicious aroma was coming from the kitchen, making my mouth water. Hailey showed me to the living room, where her dad was watching a football match. I didn't really care much for sports, but I knew enough to understand what was happening on some level. Hailey and I snuggled together on the couch underneath a blanket. Zander was watching me from the corner of the room. I ignored him and chatted with their dad. We got along pretty well. I guess he approved of me and Hailey dating. He got up to go do something, "I'll be back in a bit. You two lovebirds have fun." Hailey blushed a bit from embarrassment, and my hand slid into my pocket, rubbing a small box.

While we were eating dinner, we conversed about a variety of things. Zander was silent most of the time, eating his food slowly. Near the end of the meal, the topic about me and Hailey's relationship came up. We had been dating for three years, and we had both graduated from high school. "You two make such a great couple, I'm surprised you're not engaged yet!" Hailey's mom exclaimed. Hailey got flustered and rubbed the back of her neck. "Jake, why haven't you proposed to my daughter yet?" her dad joked. Her parents laughed lightly, and I looked down under the table at the box in my hand. Hailey followed my gaze, and her eyes widened when she realized what it was. I met her surprised expression with a nervous chuckle.

The room went silent as I stood up, my heart beating faster than I ever thought possible. I knelt down and looked up at Hailey; she was covering her mouth, and tears were trickling down her face. I held the small box up to her and opened it, revealing a silver ring with a musical note on it. "Princess," I began, trying to keep my voice steady, "You're the love of my life, I swear it's true. Without you, my heart is blue. Girl, if you're wondering if I want you to, I want you to! So make the move, 'cause I ain't got all night." I took a breath, "Hailey Alabama, will you marry me?" I hardly remember anything that happened after that, except that the rest of that night was filled with celebration and happiness for me and my fiancé.

A few years later, I was pacing back and forth across the hallway. Why wouldn't they let me in? I wanted to hold Hailey's hand and be there for her. She must be going through so much pain right now. The door opened and I almost ran over the nurse coming out of the room. "Can I see my wife? Is she okay?" The nurse allowed me to go in, and I rushed inside, eager to see Hailey. She was lying on the bed, looking exhausted. She lifted her head and gave a tired smile when she saw me. I quietly walked over and sat on the edge of her bed. She looked next to her and I followed her gaze, breaking into tears. I reached over and picked up the newborn, cradling her in my arms. I marveled at how small she was. I met Hailey's gaze. We had brought this small new life into the world together. I gently placed the baby back in her arms, and laid down next to her. I placed my finger on the baby's palm and it's fingers closed around the tip of my finger. It was so warm. I never wanted to break it's grasp. "My two angels," I whispered. Hailey held the child with one arm and wrapped her other hand around our connected fingers. I glanced at her, "What should we name her?" She thought for a moment, "I want it to mean something." I looked at the baby's flushed cheeks, "What about Rosy?" Hailey smiled, "I like the sound of that. Rosy," We looked down at the new member of our family. "Welcome to the family, Rosy."

A/N: I can see Rosy reading this and being like: ... At the beginning of this, it was strictly following along to the song, but at the end I completely ditched it. So, hope you enjoyed!
