Esme's POV

It was supper and as me and haymitch entered the train cabin we see the most delicious food we have ever seen. We both sit down and dig in. I've never had so much food in one sitting. Farren was a victor from our neighbouring district; 11. So she was both a mentor and representative.

"I don't like repeating myself so I made a manual for the games and my tips. Study that and you will live. So other than that, I'm here to give you sponsors." - Farren

"You need to get people to like you. Fairly simple. So how are you both socially?" - Farren

"Well, were both outcasts. I have no family and Esme has no friends, apart from me, and has barely no family." - Haymitch

"Well, that isn't going to get you sponsors. What are we going to do?" - Farren

Me and haymitch exchange looks and stare at her before she yells.

"Eureka! We can have you two fall in love! The public will adore it! That's a way to get sponsors!" - Farren

"What!? I can't do that! I can't force Esme to fall in love with me!" - Haymitch

"It's not that hard to pretend, I do it all the time, that's how I lived." - Farren

"You manipulated everyone you knew!" - Esme

"You have to manipulate the public and the competitors. If that's you want to see your little family again." - Farren

Time Skip - Late at night

It was later on in the night and me and haymitch were just sitting in each other's company. Decided how we will get sponsors.

"Fine, I will try to convince them to love you." - Haymitch

"Thank you." - Esme

"We need to make them believe it don't we?" - Haymitch

"That's it yes?" - Esme

"We need to be good at manipulating, so we might as well start now so we believe it." - Haymitch

"What are you saying?" - Esme

"Kiss me, make it look real, make it look passionate." - Haymitch
