Esmes POV

Finally. The tours is over. The were tiring and constant. Returning home, I feel a sense of relief and comfort. Lying in my bed, i heat a knock on my door and see haymitch dressed up. I sit up confused at him and walk over to him. I circle him with suspicion, all he could do was chuckle and blush.

"What's all this? What are you doing? You have even had a bath?" - Esme

"Well i thought, maybe we could go on a date? Seems as though this is the first time we can be alone." - Haymitch

"Ugh only for you idiot." - Esme

Time skip

Walking down the gravel path with haymitch, the brisk wind pulled us together. Mitch was wearing nice jeans and a white cotton shirt. And I was wearing a capitols favourite; a off the shoulder sheer sleeved dress with matching white slip on shoes.

Mitch didn't reveal anything if our date. Well to be completely, I don't know what a date really is. My mum used to talk about them with my dad. They sounded so nice. They laughed. Smiled. Kissed. Adam has been on plenty. He was the bachelor of the district. He told me not to worry and be myself.

Turing the corner, I see the towns platform decorated in fairy lights with some guitarists and violinists on the side. It was something out of those romantic movies the capitol shows us. Mitch drags me up to the stage eager to dance with me.

He places his hand on my hip and one clasping my hand. I place my spare hand on his shoulder. Lost in his eyes, he begins to lead the waltz. The musicians begin to play some slow pace music that went with our dance. All we could do was smile so wide. His eyes beamed with the lights surrounding us.

Everything was perfect in the world. No games. No war. No president snow. Everything was flourishing. As we were spinning, we laughed like children. I could only see him. Everything else around me was blurred within the blur we created.

We become to a stop, because we both nearly fall over from dizziness. We laugh it off and start to walk steadily off stage. We barely talked all night but that was the beauty of it. We didn't need to talk. We talked through smiles and glances.

Mitch lead us down to our local creak and there we sat admiring the moon glistening in the stilled water. I could sense haymitch seemed nervous. What could he be nervous for? I just hope to god all of this isn't a way to disguise some bad news he had to tell me.

"Esme...you know how much I love you right?" - Haymitch

"Yes of course I do." - Esme

"And do you know that you have made me the happiest man on earth." - Haymitch

"Yes, I do know that. Does all of this have a point?" - Esme

"Erm....okay here goes nothing." - Haymitch

He turns to face me and pulls my hands in to his. He was starting to tear up. But he was smiling. Is he?

"Esme Grace Sullivan. Will you make the the happiest man of all of existence. And marry me?" - Haymitch

He knelt down doing so and produced a ring case with the most gorgeous ring. It was a thing ring that had an ash grey rock in the middle of it. I began to tear up and choke.

"Yes...I will marry you haymitch Abernathy." - Esme

Suddenly, cheers were erupted from the bushes. I abruptly turn to see Adam, Abigail, and Daniel cheering for us with Adam filming us with his new camera. We both blush and smile towards the camera.
