Esme's POV
It was time to make our tribute, across all the districts. Me and the rest of the competitors were all waiting in their carriages waiting to present themselves. I was waiting for haymitch until I see him come through the door fixing his coat.
I was right, he would look so handsome in that outfit. I need to stop this, I can't fall for him, I need to focus on winning. He enters my carriage admiring me. And smirking. That's damn smile, it always got me to blush. He knows me far too well.
"What's with your face?" - Esme
"Well it's admiring you in that dress, you will be unmissable in it." - Haymitch
"Oh hush, I won't even get a second glance." - Esme
"I'll give more than a second look." - Haymitch
I playfully nudge him as Farren and Octavius walk over to us.
"Now don't you two look like the capitol's next darlings." - Farren
"Esme, haymitch, I have made a last minute alteration to your outfits." - Octavius
"How so?" - Haymitch
"Once the camera lands on you two, huge red wings will rise from your backs to make it look like your both dominate." - Octavius
Time skip - tribute
It was time for our tribute, our carriage moves forward into the large arena with crowds screaming and applauding the tributes. The lights were bright and it was loud. Haymitch slowly takes me hand and lifts it up causing an uproar. I see the camera on us and I feel parts of my dress move and our wings come alive.
"Representing district 12 is, Esme Grace Sullivan and Haymitch Abernathy. And-WOAH! Look at those wings! There incredibly! They must be the best dressed out of any district this year!" - Ceasar
Our carts round up in a circle in front of President Snow's podium. He walks up and the crowd uproars even more.
"Tributes! Welcome to the 50th annual Hunger Games! We all hope you do exceptionally well! And may the odds be ever in your favour." - President Snow
