Esme's POV

We had a few hours until our victor interview with Ceaser. I was just sat in my room. Staring. Legs curled to my chest. Tears escaping the eyes. I didn't notice haymitch walked in until I felt his arm around me.

"I told you, You would win." - haymitch

"Yes, but at what cost?" - Esme

"Too much." - Haymitch

We lay there together as we rest upon my bed and hold each other tightly.

Time Skip to the Victors Interview

Octavius dressed us accordingly; in a dark red just like in our introduction. Haymitch had a dark red suit with a white shirt where as I wore a flowy red dress. I also kept on wearing abigails necklace. We were both escorted to the side of the stage as Ceaser begins the show.

"Welcome! Welcome everyone! Tonight is the night! We greet our winners! Esme grace Sullivan and Haymitch Abernathy!" - Ceaser

We walk on stage hand in hand as we smile at the camera. We all sit down on the couch as we wait for the crowd to calm down.

"First off, id like to say congratulations to our FIRST duo winners of the games!" - Ceaser

"We have never had a duo winner of any games, why do you think the game makers spared the both of you?" - Ceaser

"Well I'm all honesty Ceaser, I'm not sure why, but I personally thank them. Because of you, I can have the future I wanted with Esme." - Haymitch

I tear up slightly as I hug him and he places a light kiss on my head. Everyone awes and a few sniffles were herd.

"Now Esme, for the first few days in the games you were completely alone. What was it like to finally see haymitch?" - Ceaser

"Well, I felt like the happiest girl alive. I thought I was never going to see him again. It was very overwhelming." - Esme

"Now, Esme as we all know, your sister Abigail was absolutely destroyed when you were reaped. Do you have anything to say to her?" - Ceaser

"Abigail, Daniel. I told you guys I would win, and I never break my promises do I? I'm going to see you two very soon, just a little while longer. I love you guys." - Esme

I take my necklace and hold it in my hand holding back my tears.

"So haymitch, what is your first move into your future with Esme?" - Ceaser

"Well, is like to wait a few months so we can settle down and then maybe we can think on using our winnings to buy a home on the outskirts of our district." - Haymitch

"Oh, and unfortunately we have run out of time for this show. We wish the best of look good our star-struck victorious lovers from District 12." - Ceaser
