Chapter 19- Marriage

I woke up to the most annoying sound of the doorbell.

Ugh.

This is definitely not a vacation.

I grabbed my phone and squinted at the screen.

8:00 a.m.

Who the hell is at my door at this hour?

I dragged myself out of bed, grumpy as ever, and opened the door—

Only to freeze.

Agastya.

Standing there.

In just his track pants.

Holding two cups of coffee.

And smiling like he owned the morning.

His upper body was toned as hell—

And not going to lie...

I was staring.

Okay, fine.

Drooling.

"If you're done checking me out," he said, smirking, "can I come in?"

That snapped me back to reality.

Immediately.

Back to grumpy mode.

"What do you want?" I snapped, folding my arms. "And why did you wake me up so early? The wedding is in the evening, and I don't have anything until 1. So why—why—why are you here?"

He stepped inside casually.

"No particular reason," he said. "Except... I wanted to spend some alone time with my fresh girlfriend."

He winked.

"Fresh girlfriend?" I raised an eyebrow. "What am I—a fruit?"

He chuckled.

"No," he said softly, stepping closer. "You're my baby."

Then he held out one of the cups.

"And that reminds me... I brought your baby."

Coffee.

Instant mood shift.

A smile crept onto my face despite myself.

I took the cup from his hand and walked back to my bed, sitting cross-legged.

"Wow," he said, closing the door behind him. "Not even a thank you?"

"Why should I thank you?" I pouted. "You woke me up from my beauty sleep."

Yes.

Important.

Very important.

"First," he said, taking a sip of his coffee, "you're rude in the morning."

I glared at him.

"And second," he continued, leaning slightly closer, "you don't need more beauty, baby. I already can't handle you."

He winked again.

I blushed.

Of course I did.

And hit his shoulder.

We fell into a comfortable silence after that, sipping our coffee.

He stretched out on my bed, half-lying down, looking completely at home.

I rested my head on his stomach.
