Chapter 25 - what are you wearing tonight?

"Shreya can you come into my cabin?" I telecomed one of the intern in my office.
And soon there was a knock on my door.
"Yeh come in" I shouted while adjusting my files.
"Shreya I need you to get me a 2 people research team for a new case, it's a pro bono case and I have to win it. Also I want you to report back to me every hour about the update because I wanna complete this early, this is the file with all the information. Do look into it and revert back to me. Your coffee's on me have as much as you want but give it your 100%" I extended my file to her.
"Aye aye captain" she saluted and left the cabin.
I go back to my current file and double check the drafting and everything because I had a case in the court today so I am a little nervous.
I stood up and walked towards Krishna's office.
"Hi di, Wasssuuuppp?" I enter her office and took a seat. She was munching on some dry fruits.
"I am bored, and my baby is not kicking back now and my husband is too busy to talk on the phone and I don't wanna work and ..... no that's it. How's your non pregnant life going on?" She asked me while eating her fruits.
"Wow you don't wanna work. You should get pregnant more often" I joke around with her.
"Yeh and you'll be taking care of them na from labour to post pregnancy drama to crying to feeding to breast pumping everything you do it and I am ready to make my own cricket team." She said very normally and I made a cringy face.
"Honestly no thanks, have your hum do humare do (two spouses and two children) and be happy. Anyways I came here to get the Manoj Iyengar's file" I stood up and went to her file drawer. I took out the file and turned towards her. She was still in the same position eating.
"Why do you come to office and sit on this harsh chair and eat dry fruits while you can do it on your bed in your house. Don't pregnant lady seek comfort?" I ask her.
"Yeh pregnant ladies do seek comfort but we also have ego and I told my husband that I work very hard and I won't start my leave until the 8th month of pregnancy and three more days to go for that" she said while flipping her pages of the business magazine.
"Gosh you are weird. And they say I am an alien. Anyways continue with that ego. Call me if you need anything immediately. I am just across the hall and if you are really here than do some research. I'll send you a file" I told her.
"Heyyyy! I am the boss of you" she raised her eyebrow. I gave her a challenging eye.
"Ughhh! Okay you win this. I'll do something bye" she sat straight and opened her computer.
"Bye bye boss" I came back to my office and my phone was ringing. I saw the ID and picked it up immediately.
"Good afternoon girlfie" came my annoyingly cute boyfriend's voice. (PS- Annoyingly cute is a word, don't argue).
"Good afternoon to you too. Well someone's in a good mood today. Are you buying me some diamonds?" I tease him.
"Wait a minute, is this your game that you'll expect me to take the clues and gift you diamonds? And who stays in a good mood while shopping for their girlfriends diamonds?" He said.
"First, that's rude. Second, now it's a game and Third shut up I have to work" I told him.
"Then I hope to see you soon in the evening for your WORK party" he said dramatically and emphasised more on work
"That reminds me what are you wearing?" I ask him.
"Why do you wanna Colour code as a couple?" I could imagine the smirk on his face rn.
"No thanks. It's a general question but I agree, it's my fault I asked you. I should've called Kiara only. Anyways bye I'll call her now" I told him.
"You have time to talk to my sister but not me? Howw???whyyy??? I am the boyfriend, not her. I never thought I'll say this but I am jealous of her now." He replied.
"Why are you being so dramatic. You know what VC right away" I immediately cut the call and video called him.
He picked it up immediately. He looked hot in his dark blue work suit, like a fine ass hottie.
"Couldn't go without seeing my face I see. Someone's behaving like a wife now" he teased me. My cheeks immediately turned red and a heavy blush appeared on them.
"Shut up. And I wanted to see your jealous face" I show him my tongue.
"Why don't you keep me as your lock wallpaper. You can see me anytime you want" he smirked.
"Why don't you do that?" I challenge him.
"I already have it babe" he took his phone and showed me his lock wallpaper. And it was indeed me. I was in shock.
"Are you mad or what. Now who is acting all husbandy?" I try to keep a serious face but a smile creeped on my face.
"Mad for you babe" he winked at me. And I facepalmed myself.
"Anyways, I don't have time for your cheesiness. I have a court case in an hour and then I have to go home and get ready. Which reminds me you have to pick me from my office because I took a cab while coming and I don't wanna do that now because I have a wonderful boyfriend" I said the last part in a cute kid voice.
"Don't be cute to me babe, I have work too. I don't have time for pick up and drop" he huffed.
"Pleeeessseeeeeeeew" I show him my puppy dog face.
"Don't do that. FINE. Text me the time I'll pick you up. Bye baby" he gave in and I gave him a big smile. We cut the call and went back to our respective work.
I reviewed my petition and all the paperworks then I went to Krishna's office to bid her bye.
I entered the office and she was sleeping open mouthed on her chair. First I took a pic, because I am a futuristic thinker. And this pic may help me.
I then left my office and reached the Court which was just 10 minutes away from my office.
Everything went well in the court and I won the case.
I left Court and went back to my office. I gave the news to everyone and they were really happy.
I then called Agastya and asked him to pick me up. I packed my stuff and informed my now awake boss about the party tonight and that the Joshi's have invited her too.
"So what are you gonna wear?" She asks me.
"That's a good question. Nextt" I played with her.
"Tell me na, I am pregnant and nothing fits me now. I don't know what to wear" she huffed in annoyance.
"I'll VC you once I reach home. Because I have not decided yet about my dress" I tell her.
"Okie dokie then. See ya later pal" she went back to her phone gallery to see the dresses options.
I got a call from Agastya saying he reached my office and I told him I am coming down.
I reached the garage and saw my car.
I sat in the passenger seat and looked at the driver's seat. And there he was looking like a spicy hottie. He removed his glasses and came forward and closed my mouth.
I didn't know that I was ogling at him. I hit his hand away and kept my bag behind.
He then came forward and kissed me. After a good 2 minutes kiss we had to pull away for air. He then kissed my forehead and started the car. I smile at his actions and took his hand into mine.
He intertwined our fingers. And then it hit me. We were in the car since 5 minutes now and non of us had spoken anything.
"You know babe, we can pass as a mute couple" I told him.
"And why is that?" He asked me.
"Because we've been in the car since 5-7 minutes now but we didn't speak a single word" I told him.
"What bullshit things you talk" he remarked.
"Hey that's mean" I complain.
"And you are mine" he winked at me.
"As if that's not bullshit" I huffed.
"So what are you wearing tonight?" He asked me.
"I am not gonna tell you. When I asked you the same question you made fun of me so why should I tell you now" I gave him a fake smile.
"You are a kid in a 24 y/o body" he said.
"Well happy realisation baby. Now you have the responsibility to take care of me like a kid and to give me candies. Which reminds me I made myself clear the very first day of our dating that I need my weekly candies. Why haven't I received anything yet?" I raise my eyebrow at him and took my hand away from his.
He looked at me then he again took my hand, intertwined his fingers and placed our hands on my lap.
"You'll get your candies kid. Don't worry and don't take away whats mine" he told me.
"What did I take from you?" I looked at him confused.
"Your hand" he said with a smile and it immediately made me blush.
"Damn you and your cheesiness" I went to him and kissed his cheek.
His smile brightens up and he kissed our intertwined hand.
We reached my house in some time and Agastya parked my car.
Aahan drove in at the same time and parked his car next to mine.
We got out and Agastya tossed me my keys. I catch the keys and kept it inside my bag.
"When is the cab coming?" I asked him.
He looked at his phone.
"It'll take 10 more minutes." He told me.
"Fine then come in jiju" Aahan said from behind.
He looked at Aahan and then at me. He had a smile on his face and then he shook his head.
I then hit Aahan on his head.
"You stupid insan (person). You know some people have supernatural powers some have authoritative power some have bad powers and you my darling brother have the power to make everything awkward" I told him.
"Hey talk in English, Hindi or Gujrati don't talk your planets language with me" he made fun of me. I looked at Agastya for help.
"I am actually with him on this one" he pointed to Aahan.
Aahan let out his fist and Agastya was gonna fist bump but he took it back when Aahan said. "That's my jiju".
"But you don't get to say that" Agastya told him.
"Yet" he added and then winked at me. Blush reappears on my face and I look down shyly.
"So did you watch the match today? It was sick bro. Rohit hit 4 sixes in a row" Aahan told Agastya and then they started talking sports and I went on my Instagram and was exploring the explore when a hot guy's pic came up. A plan clouded in my head and I showed it to Agastya.
"Isn't he hot, I mean his body is olala and those 8 packs uffff and..." I was cut off in middle when Agastya took my phone from me and he tapped the triple bar and then the option which said show fewer posts like this. I looked up at him shockingly and he smirked at me.
"You were saying something?" He asked me.
"You are a cruel boyfriend" I told him and he kissed my forehead.
"I know babe. Anyways I have to go now my cab just pulled over. See you in the evening babe" he pecked my lips and then bro hugged Aahan and then went to his cab.
I came out of shock and then looked at Aahan who was laughing at me.
"You've met your perfect match" he then shoulder patted me and went inside. I followed him in and then went to my living room where my dad was watching a movie.
"Hey dad" I went to him and slept with my head on his lap.
"Hi beta" he patted my head and then started playing with my hair.
"How was your day?" He asked me.
"It was good dad. I won a case in the court today" I sat up straight and told him.
"And you are saying this now? It's a very good news beta. Keep it up and you will indeed be the most amazing lawyer of this country" he kissed my forehead and then hugged me.
"What are you guys hugging for?" My mom entered the room with a coffee mug in her hand.
"Aahana won a case today" my dad proudly said and I could see the sparkle in his eyes he was very happy.
"That's soo nice Ana" my mom kept the coffee mug on the table and then hugged me.
"Thanks mom. I love you too" I patted her back. Which is the universal signal of 'the hug is over'.
"Okay so I am going upstairs and getting ready for the party and you guys should do that too. The party is in an hour" I then took a big gulp of mom's coffee to which she raised her eyebrow and I gave her a naughty smile and climbed upstairs to my room.
I immediately went to take a shower and then I wore a robe and went to my closet.
I FaceTimed girls and Rhea and Anu picked up the call. I started showing them options.
"How's this?" I showed them a black satin gown.
"This is too hot for an office party" Rhea said.
"Yeh and you are going there as a lawyer not a fashion model, though you should join fashion" Anu said.
"Yeh why aren't you a model? You have a fine ass body and a heavenly hot face" Rhea remarked.
"Okay you guys are drifting off the topic and the party is in 1/2 n hour so help me" I went back to the rack and was looking at my dresses.
"Hey what's the blue thingy? Show me" Anu said.
I removed the dress and put it in front of me.

"Wear this" Anu said.
"Yeh totally. This is the correct mixture of lawyer+girlfriend+I am dating your son confession dress" Rhea teased me.
Which reminds me, we are going to confess to our parents today. I became nervous and bit my lip.
"Stop being nervous bro. You are gonna rock it" Anu said.
"Babe just be yourself and enjoy the evening. Everything will be okay trust me" Rhea said and I nodded.
"Okay so I am trying this on and you guys disconnect now. I have to charge my phone and get ready" We did our goodbyes and then I sent a pic of my dress to Kiara and my boss.
My boss immediately opened it and sent a thumbs up.
I put my phone on charging and changed into my dress.
I then put on a little bit of makeup and wore my white pumps. I took a small white clutch and then stuffed my phone and car keys in it.
I looked into the mirror for a final time and then went downstairs.
