Part 21

It was four days after that happened, and you were out training. You tried learning a few new forms referring off of the paper, because Hiroto wasn't there to help and guide you, and Asuno was still learning how to read. The love pillar, Mitsuri Kanroji was there to help you, but you decided you would try to do everything independently until you gave up.

Tanjirou P.O.V

I was looking directly at (y/n) through the forest trees. She did everything so elegantly, it was hard to keep up with what she was doing. Mitsuri was there to help her, but it looks like (y/n) wanted to try a few things on her own, first. I could hear Mitsuri's voice cheering her on. I felt like I had to ask her something, though.

My heart has been pounding faster when I'm around (y/n) lately, but I didn't know what it was. And when she smiles I can't help but blush at her cute face. I also get really jealous when Zenitsu flirts with her or follows her around.. what is this feeling?

I look at (y/n) for a little longer, and can't help myself but blush and hide my head in my chest. She makes me feel.. happy. Loved.

She takes a break for a moment, and walks up to me with a tired expression on her face. She fell on my lap, falling into my arms after I lift my head up. This made my face turn red. Yep.. that feeling is happening again. Mitsuri giggled a bit, understanding my situation.

(Y/n) got up understanding what she was doing, and her face flushed. "O-oh I'm sorry Tanjiro I didn't mean to!" I told her it was fine, and she covered her cheeks to hide her embarrassment. She then noticed that Zenitsu and Asuno were fighting again, so she went over there to apologize for Asuno's actions. It was always something dumb, though.

It was now just me and Mitsuri. I thought I would take the chance to ask her what I was going to, now.

"Hey M-Mitsuri? May I ask you something?" She held her hands together, smiling.

"Of course! Ask away if you'd like." I took a deep breath, leading her more into the forest so that (y/n) wouldn't easily hear me, the question was about her.

"I-it's a question about love.. I thought I'd ask you since you are the love pillar."

"Oooh! Okay! So who's the lucky girl~?" I blushed at her phrases.

"It's (Y/n). Y'know, the girl that has been traveling with me and has a little sister! I've liked her for a bit, more recently actually. I'm not sure what it is. She just makes me feel super happy.. like I have someone to go to. She's super nice as well, and my friend Zenitsu really likes her. It makes me kinda jealous I must admit..-" Mitsuri caught up to what I was saying, understanding everything.

"Well! if you want to get closer to her, try some light flirting. It will show her that you're trying to give her hints, and might start to understand. If you don't want to flirt that is fine! You can start to do some things for her, like looking after Asuno, carrying her sword, or taking on a fight for her. As you do these things, it can lead you closer to confession! How does that sound?" She sounded so happy to help me, it made me excited too.

"M-maybe I'll try to do some things for her! And if it doesn't work I'll try flirting! Thank you, Mitsuri! You really are kind!" I bowed to her, showing my respect. She bowed back, giving me a reassuring smile.

"No problem! And tell (y/n) I'll have to go now, Obanai needs me for something real fast!" She ran off waving, and I waved back. I guess it's my turn to show (y/n) how I feel about her.
