You woke up to be found in a small forest with Cherry blossom trees, quite like your hometown. You were sitting next to Tanjirou, who was dealing with your sister.
"Why do you get so close to (y/n)?! Hmph!"
"Asuno, please calm down. Your sister here is trying to sleep and-"
"Whatever!"
She crossed her arms and turned away, trying to pick a fight with Inosuke. That probably wasn't a good idea, though. Your eyes slowly opened, as you got up to see Tanjiro right next to you."Hello there, (y/n)! Did you sleep well?" He looked at you with his precious smile. You nodded tiredly and rubbed your eyes.
Tanjiro carefully picked up your hair and braided it. It startled you at first, but you started to calm down after a bit.
You hummed something to yourself that you thought nobody could hear.
"Wow, that's very beautiful, (y/n). It goes so well with your voice!" Tanjiro complimented you, which made you feel embarrassed. Your cheeks turned pink, and Tanjiro giggled at your cuteness.
"What the song called?" He asked.
"Oh, it's just something my brother used to hum to me when he did my hair." You looked down with a sad smile, as Tanjiro finished braiding your hair and gently let go. Tanjiro looked like he felt bad for..someone.
"What's wrong, Tanjiro? You look a little off." You looked at him with concern.
"...(y/n)."
"Yeah, what is it?"
"I'm very sorry about your brother. I feel like if I had arrived earlier from where he was, then I could've done something about his loss." His eyes started to water, as he looked down at his lap. You really didn't want him to feel this way, because it wasn't his fault at all.
...
You went up and hugged him.He blushed for a bit, but then hugged you back.
"It's okay, Tanjirou.. it's not your fault. Don't blame yourself. The past is in the past, don't worry about it, okay? His death isn't anyone's fault but Muzan himself." You calmly said, comforting him. He hugged you tighter, calming down.
"Thank you, (y/n).."
"I love you." You mumbled under your breath.
"I'm sorry did you say something, (y/n)? I couldn't quite hear you." Tanjiro looked up at your face, making eye contact. Your face flushed.
"O-oh not at all! Don't worry a-about it!"
How come people always hear you when you don't mean for them to, but they never hear you when your screaming your lungs out. I'm quoting Asuno here.
"Oh, well okay. Sorry about that, haha." You smiled at his response, admiring his warmth. A scream broke out, just as you got comfortable with him. You heard intense coughing and crying, with a voice of someone asking for immediate help.
"Please! I beg of you spare me! I'll even become a demon if you wish!!" A girl with long, scarlet red hair was on her knees in the presence of a demon. She was coughing up something, but you couldn't really tell. Was it.. flowers? Petals-?
"You useless human, the only thing you will do is disappoint us with the little strength you have. It's better to eat you than to waste my time accepting you." He kicked her stomach, causing her to cough up blood. This wasn't good. At all.
"Tanjiro..! We have to help her!" You said briefly, as he nodded immensely and grasped your hand. You both ran towards the demon and the young girl. She looked about thirteen years old.
"Hey!! That's enough!" You cried out, the demon turning to you and the girl staring at you, wide-eyed.
"Ieh?! And why should it be?!" He jumped back, striking a pose, trying to look all "fancy."
"I am the Hanahaki demon.. pleasure to meet you~ lady (y/n), was it?"
