"Hey Tanjiro, can you pass the cloth to me to wrap it on top of the basket please?"

...

"Hello? Earth to Tanjirooo?"

Huh? Oh!
"R-right! Sorry about that, (y/n)." I handed her the white cloth and watched as she wrapped it around the basket, making sure that sunlight wasn't exposed to the interior.

I looked at (y/n) and watched as she smiled, happy that the basket was working pretty well as she stood up, making sure that it was durable.

"Tanjiro are you okay? You've been staring at me for a minute or so, it's kinda scaring me-" (Y/n) questioned me, while I was lost in my thoughts.

"W-what- o-oh sorry! I didn't mean to-" I felt my face heat up as she softly giggled, It was so cute.

Zenitsu went up to her and started to flirt with her. Not again..

"Hey (y/n), do you think I could carry that for you?" He asked her.

(Y/n) shook her head and her hands, feeling bad. "N-no it's fine! I've got this, Asuno is my responsibility-" Zenitsu then cut her off.

"You also look very beautiful today, (y/n)!" Zenitsu complimented her, staring at her.

"Awh that's so sweet, thank you!" I looked at (y/n)'s flattered expression, as Zenitsu blushed at her smile. I also kinda find it annoying, because:
1: Zenitsu likes my sister, that can't end out well.
2: Zenitsu likes my crush, which makes me feel a bit irritated.

"Hey Tanjiro, you okay over there? You look sorta mad at me-" Zenitsu asked me, which made me realize that he could clearly tell that I was jealous.

"Or are you just jealous~? It's obvious you like her! Just say something before I snatch her away~" Zenitsu teased me, resulting in my face turning red once again.

"Z-Zenitsu!! Can you cut that out?!" I told him. My face was practically a tomato at this point, feeling too embarrassed to look up. We had a mission, I should probably gather myself together so that I could focus. The sun started to rise, giving us a lot of time to find the demon we had to kill. We were ordered to go to a nearby village, so it wouldn't take us long to get there. That's where the demon was, anyways.

Your POV

I noticed that Tanjiro was acting... different. He zoned out pretty often, and seemed sad at Zenitsu's compliments towards me. I decided that I would talk to him privately after the mission, I was quite worried about him.

Of course, demons didn't lurk around during the day. I needed to ask the residents of the town if they've noticed anything, otherwise it would be left unsolved.

I went up to a girl around my age, and asked her some questions.

"Hello, my name is (y/n) (l/n). I am a demon slayer, sent here by the corps. Apparently, there is a demon around here that needs to be killed. Is there anything you know?" I asked politely.

"Well recently, a lot of people have gone missing at least every day. I don't see as much people in our village, and some people put up missing signs for their children. A lot of murder cases have been reported as well, but we don't know who the killer is. It's been like this for about a couple of days, now."

Yeah, there was definitely a demon. I don't see why someone would randomly start kidnapping in such a small estate.

"Okay. Thank you for the information, tell me if you discover anything else please!" I waved goodbye to her, as I ran back to Tanjiro and the others. I told them everything that the girl had told me.

"Give me a moment," Tanjiro told us.

Tanjiro started.. sniffing the ground-? WhAt-

I got really confused. Just- huh-?

"Oh! I don't know if you know this yet, but Tanjiro has a very good sense of smell. He told me when you were asleep." Zenitsu turned to me, informing me.

"Oh, okay- I was freaking out for a second, haha."

Tanjiro got up with a serious expression on his face.

"Over here."
