Halloween was a week away, and I love Halloween, so I spent that Saturday getting everything ready. I got out all the cotton, the fake spiders, the plastic tombstones, the bats, the fake blood capsules. I put on a doorbell with a scary ring. I went all out. I looked through my costume box and found a dementor costume, which I hung outside to scare off little kids. I put a sign in scary letters, written by me, with something from Michael Jackson's Thriller:
Darkness falls across the land
The midnight hour is close at hand Creatures crawl in search of blood To terrorize y'all's neighborhood.
And whosoever shall be found Without the soul for getting down

Must stand and face the hounds of hell And rot inside a corpse's shell
The foulest stench is in the air
The funk of 40,000 years
And grizzly ghouls from every tomb, Are closing in to seal your doom. And though you fight to stay alive, Your body starts to shiver,
For no mortal can resist,
The evil of The Thriller!
On the topic of that, I made a Halloween playlist that included, Thriller, Ghostbusters, The Stranger Things theme, Creep by Radiohead, Zombie by the Cranberries, Highway to Hell, and Hell's Bells, because you can never have too much AC DC, and Enter

Sandman by Metallica because it's a classic. And none of that stupid Monster Mash stuff. That's not scary. At the end of the day, I carved my pumpkins, and they were the best. It was so fun. At night, I woke up to some sounds.
Someone broke into my house, I thought. I lept to my feet.
"Who's there", I yelled.
"Beware", it said.
"What?", I asked.
"Beware of what you decorate your house with".
All the decorations had come to life, and I died.
