"Give me a glass of water." Jin said while massaging his temple.
"Here you go." I said as I gave him the glass.
After giving him water I thought that it would be awkward to stay with him in the living room as he was drunk and it was midnight so I decided to go back to my room.
"Hailey..." He held my hand as I was about to leave.
"Why don't you remember me?" I turned around as his words caught my attention.

When Hailey was 5 and Jin was 11
Both Jin and Hailey were at a park near their neighborhood. Hailey went to that park for the first with her nanny. And Jin went their often whenever he felt he needed some time alone. That day Jin was very sad and angry so he needed to vent his anger on something. He kicked a rock on the ground but ended up falling on his back and little Hailey saw that from far. She saw how no one was helping him to get up.
"Give my water bottle and stay here, I'm coming." Hailey said to the nanny.
"Don't go too far." Her nanny replied and Hailey started running towards Jin.
"Hey, why are you crying." Hailey asked Jin who was now sitting on the ground and was crying.
He looked at Hailey and then looked away.
"Does that hurt that bad?" She asked but received no reply.
Then that witty little girl thought of an idea. She deliberately fell on the ground.
"Nope, it doesn't hurt." She said making the 11 year old laugh.
Jin's face which was wet with tears was now laughing all thanks to Hailey who also then joined him.
"You're funny." Jin said.
"I know." She replied.
"What's your name?" He asked.
"Hailey Su. You?"
"Kim Seokjin."
"Why were you crying?"
"I...I was crying because of something that happened to me in school." At first he hesitated to tell but then he did tell her.
"School is that hard when you grow up?
"No, not for everyone. My case is different."
"Why?"
"Because I'm an orphan."
"Or..orphan?"
"Oh..you're still young to know."
"I'm not young! I'm 1..2..3..4..5." She said which brought a smile on his face.
"Ok ok."
"Tell me what orphan is?"
"An orphan is someone whose parents are de...no longer present in this world." Jin was careful with his words as Hailey was only 5.
"So ...someone whose one parent is not in this world is a half orphan right?"
"Hmm...yes."
"So you have no parents but what does it have to do with school? I thought school is for studying."
"I don't understand myself why they bully me for not having parents."
"Bully?" Her curious eyes looked at him again.
"Now please don't ask me about that."
"Ok....." she said while pouting.
"I think I can feel you." She said while looking at the light blue sky.
"How?" Now Jin was being curious.
"My mom is there....she left me." She said as she pointed at the sky.
"Oh.."
"My dad doesn't like me, he is always busy with his work or with my step mom and sister." She said and Jin looked at her in awe.
"You're the first person who could understand me, feel me. Please don't be sad.....maybe there's something better for us in the future." He said while looking in her eyes.
"Yes! There's I believe. My nanny says my mom used to be very positive about everything and I learned to be positive from her."
"It seems like your mom was a good person and I hope you will also be like her."
"Am I not good now?" She said while folding her hands which made Jin laugh again.
They became very close friends from that day despite the age gap between them. They used to meet each other at that park but as Hailey's family used to move a lot because of Hailey's dad's business, this didn't last long.
"I ...I don't want to go but he won't listen.." Hailey sobbed as Jin wiped her tears.
"You're crying like as if we won't meet again." He said.
"Promise me we will meet again somehow." He said while bringing forth his pinky.
"I promise." Hailey said as she intertwined her pinky with his.
"Hailey, we have to go now." Her nanny pulled her, separating them.
"Why does everyone I love have to be separated from me." Jin said to himself as tears rolled down his cheeks.
