Chapter 26

Recently my life has been really peaceful. No Jaehyun, no Velissy and no Professor. Because the university was closed for a couple of days. But the university reopened today and thank god I am not late this time. As I walked into my classroom, I saw Wendy sitting on her desk so I sat beside her as usual. The bell rang and the professor came in. But wait, this is not him.

"Wendy, we got a new Professor?" I whispered .

"I'm not sure. I think our Professor changed or maybe Professor Jin is absent and he is just a substitute Professor." She replied.

The class ended and it was lunch time. I'm usually really excited about food but that day I seemed to be quite uninterested. I should have felt happy that Professor Jin was not there to bother me but I didn't know why I was feeling really bored and......upset? I was lost in my thoughts but then Wendy said something.

"Oh Hailey, I forgot to tell you something." I looked at her.

"I helped you sign up for the short-term internship." She said.

"Oh.....WHAT?!" I said in shock.

"Hailey, listen to me. I was afraid that you would forget about it so I helped you sign up with me. And I chose KS , it's a great company." She replied enthusiastically.

"Oh no! Their boss makes them work overtime." I said while whining.

"Are you dumb." Wendy said as he flicked my forehead.

"Everyone from our department wants to enter KS. My dad said if I can get into KS on my own then he would reward me with extra pocket money." She said and I could understand her wish to get into a prestigious company.

KS is actually a very good company but getting an internship will be surely really difficult and especially for a student like me. But I shall not lose hope, hard work and determination is the key to success. Today was not bad, Wendy helped me sign up and we have a new finance professor now. Professor.....he disappeared after confessing, how unprofessional. But what if it's a prank. I should stop thinking about him and sleep.

"Our interviews are being held at different places, I'm so nervous." Wendy said on the phone.

"We cannot do anything about it. Good luck Wendy, I know we can do it." I said to cheer her up even though I was nervous myself.

"Good luck to you too !" Then I hung up.

A sighed and then started walking towards the company's towering building. KS, the most famous and prestigious company of the city with a modern architecture. I have the worst luck ever, how can I ....... Just as I was lost in my thoughts, I noticed so many smart elites came to give interview. This made me feel more nervous and insecure.
"Good luck Hailey!" I said to myself before entering the building.

*phone ringing*

Who is calling at dawn. I picked my phone from the side table without opening my eyes.

"Hello?" I said in my sleepy voice.

"Hello. Ms. Su, I'm calling from KS. I wanted to inform you that you have passed the interview you gave last week, you can come attend the office from tomorrow." As soon as heard that, I quickly got up and pinched myself to see if I'm dreaming or not.

I thanked them before going to my bathroom and splashing water on my face to prove to myself that it's not a dream. I passed....wow....I guess God is finally feeling some sympathy for me. I actually didn't have much hope on it as Velissy was present there and moreover; I tripped on the floor in front of everybody because of Velissy but still didn't say anything. I just don't want to think about it anymore, the interview day was kinda awful but I got the internship at last. Cheer up Hailey!

My first day at work, I am both nervous and excited. I should wear something good for today. So I decided to wear a formal white shirt with black pencil skirt and black coat. I looked at the mirror and then did my hair into a bun and applied some lip balm. I never liked wearing makeup to formal places. After getting ready, I went to KS building.

I nervously entered the office and informed the recipient that I'm there for internship. The recipient called someone and soon a man came.

"You must be Ms. Su ." He said.

"Yes, I'm." I replied.

"Follow me." He said and I started following him to the lift.

"Ms. Su, you're hired as the president's secretary. The president's secretary is responsible for recording and organizing the president's itinerary and helping him deal with various chores." He said as we walked into a different floor.

The president's secretary! That's a big responsibility even though it sounds easy. But I think I can at least try to do it . I just hope the president is kind and sensible.

"Here we are." The man said as we stood outside a big room.

"President, your new secretary has arrived." He said.

"Come in." The president said from inside.

"Ms. Su , the president ordered you to enter." He said.

"Oh ok, thank you." I said before nervously opening the door.

As I opened the door, I saw a big desk and the man on the chair was facing backwards so I couldn't see him but as soon as he started turning.......I skipped a heartbeat.
