(Der POV)

I lead Addy towards an empty on call room. "We're done, aren't we?" Addy asked with tears in her eyes. "Yeah, we are. I'm sorry." I replied. "I'll have documents drawn up by the end of the week. You just focus on taking care of Meredith. Don't let her go." Addy replied. "Thank you. And Addy? It's been a good 11 years." I said as I gave her a hug. I walked out of the room and went back to Merediths room with a smile on my face. I turned the corner to her room to be met with the sound of a shrieking heart monitor. I ran into the room "Whats happening?!" I demanded. "She's having a panic attack, we have to calm her down or we'll have to sedate her!" Richard replied. I looked over to see tears streaming down her face. I ran over and climbed in the bed with her, wrapping my arms around her sore frame. "Mer, you have to calm down. I'm here. I'm not leaving. I love you." I said soothingly. It wasn't good that she was this worked up after surgery. She finally gave into the embrace and leant back into my arms. Her sobs eventually died down and she fell asleep. "What the hell was that?" I asked quietly. "She must've had a nightmare that induced a panic attack. You were the only one who could calm her down." Bailey explained. "Okay, we'll let her sleep for a while. You should get some rest too." Richard said as he left the room. I nodded and closed my eyes.

(Mer POV) post op day 3

I woke up to someone shakin behind me. I turned around as best as I could to see Derek asleep while shaking. He must be having a nightmare. "Derek. Derek. Wake up, it's just a dream." I said. He stirred and woke up with a fright. "Are you okay?" I asked, worriedly. "Yeah just a nightmare I guess." He replied. "Im sorry." I said as kissed his arm. Bailey and Richard walked in. "Grey, you get to go home in a few days. We're gonna get you standing up on your own today." Bailey said. I nodded. "I'll give you a few minutes to prepare and I'll be back." She said. "You ready?" Derek asked. "Yes I'm ready." I replied. "You sure it's not too early?" He questioned. "No, Der I'm fine. I'll be out of the hospital in 3 days, and then I'll start pt the next week." I informed. "Okay Grey, you ready?" Bailey asked while walking in. "Yeah." I replied quietly. "Okay, your gonna swing your arms over the bed and use your good arm as leverage. I'll hold your bad arm and help." I slowly swung my legs are the bed with a small groan of pain. I grabbed dereks hand and slowly stood up. Bailey put grabbed my bad arm and stood up with me. "Your doing great." Derek whispered soothingly in my ear. I simply nodded and stood. I stood for a good 5 minutes before I decided I needed a break. "You did good Grey. Tomorrow you'll be walking a short distance." She said. I nodded as Derek and Bailey helped me back into bed. Derek gave a kiss and sat back in bed with me and we dozed off.
