I've never seen my dad go from confused to furious so fast.

As soon as the words left my mouth, his face was bright red - and i swear, if it was humaly/werewolfly possible, steam would be coming out of his ears.

He paced back and forth for a few moments and i felt everyone in the room tense. Maybe my dad and Mr.Hunt didn't get along well?

"That little brat!" My dad spat out after coming to a stand still. "Calm down honey," my mom cooed, reaching out to touch his shoulder from behind. His posture relaxing the second her hand made contact with it. "It's not her choice. Her wolf made the choice, because it was the right one. No mating choice has ever been wrong." My mom continued, "This could be good for us. We need a bigger pack."

"A bigger pack is what you're worried about!?" my dad yelled, snapping out of his calm state. "After what they did to us?" My dad gestured towards the other pack members.

What could've happened that was bad enough tp set my dad off like this?

Why did we need a bigger pack?

"We need a bigger pack John." My mom said fermly, standing her ground. "For what?" my dad began to raise his voice.

"To protect us! There are Rouges out there," she said pointing towards the woods that hid behind the safty of glass doors, "and they grow in numbers every day! We're left here, helpless in our packs, hoping! praying! that when we train in the woods, we make it home for dinner." Her voice became softer towards the end and I could see that everyone had sided with my mom.

"What did the 'Shadow Pack' ever do to us?" I looked up at my parents and the both turned to face me. Once again the mood in the room changed. Everyone had their guards up and I could feel every muscle in my body tense as my wolf felt the emotions of each individual in the room.

"It was a long time ago sweetie," My mom said softly while a senceir smile crept onto her lips "It doesn't matter now."

"No," My dad's voice sounding a little more amused than agressive "she deserves to know. After all, he is her mate." The smile on my mom's face disappeared and her expression turned cold.

"What happened?" i repeated, my question was still unanswered and it seemed like my parents were dragging this out for way to long. I felt the anticipation in the room as we all waited for my dad to say something.

He turned his back towards me and faced everyone else. "Many years ago, when Alpha Turner still led the Moonlight Pack, Alpha Richards was still in comand of the Shadow Pack. They came to a disagreement of some sorts and Alpha Turner sugested a meeting, between him and Alpha Richards. Alpha Richards agreed, but on the condition that it would be held in the woods on the boarder. At midnight, Alpha Turner and Alpha Richards met at the boarder, but they weren't alone. Alpha Richards had brought his whole pack with, although the Alpha's agreed for it to be secret. That night Alpha Turner was killed by the Shadow Pack and ever since then, we've been rivals." My dad's voice was stone cold and his face had gone pale.

"Who was Alpha Turner?" Taylor asked curiously. I looked up, having forgotten they were here.

"My Great Grandfather." I answered him.

"He would've still been the Alpha of our pack if it wasn't for them," He spar out.

"What do you mean?"

"Well sweetie," my mom chimed in, her voice was soft and melodic "When a pack gains a new Alpha, such as yourself, the pervious Alpha has to teach you everything he knows - which would've been over 300 years worth of knowledge. Then the old Alpha would step down and give the pack over to the new Alpha."

"What?" Taylor's voice filled the room.

"Werewolves live for over 200 years, but once a werewolf has found their mate - they're stronger and live longer." My my said, "They live to be 300 years or older."

Tiffany looked at Taylor, and she gently brushed her lips against his cheek. A warm smile replaced the serious look that was occupying his lips. His arm around her waist tightened and her face lit up a bright red. Her lower body was pressed against his, so I could just imagine why she was blushing like a school girl.Even in a serious moment like this one, those two would find a way to be kinky.

I shook my head, mentally erasing the image of my two best friends going at it. A disgusted shiver ran down my spine and shook my head again, making sure the thought was gone for good.

"What happened to Alpha Richards?" I really had to know as much of the story as possible, I wasn't ready to take over a pack if i didn't know everything.

"He died after our pack caught him alone on a perimeter run late one afternoon. An eye for and eye." my dad's voice sounded pleased and cold, as if taking someone's life wasn't that big of a deal.

"An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind," I mumbled under my breath, quoting Ghandi.

"It was worth it!" My dad snarled turning to face me, "My Grandfather was a great man, and he was trying to do the right thing!"

"Honey, calm down." My mom cooed and within seconds my dad had relaxed his posture and tone.

"What's the boarder you spoke about earlier?" I asked, desperatly trying to change the subject.

"It's the line between our teritory and theirs. The line is created by a river that flows through the forest." Mr.Rhode's said and Tiffany's head turned towards her father. "We do perimeter runs along it almost every weekend."

"Why?" Tiffany asked concerned. Her eyes were glued to her fathers as he turned to face my dad. My dad nodded and Mr.Rhodes nodded in return. "There are Rouge wolves that enter our teritory, and they are a danger to us and our pack." Mr.Rhodes informed us firmly.

"Mr.Rhodes, you said the boarder was created by a river?" I asked, making double sure.

"Yes," he nodded his head slowly, narrowing his eyes as he spoke.

"Is that the one North East from here?"

My dad swung around to face me, his face was white and concern was etched into every pore. "How do you know that?" His voice was shaky and low.

"I ran to it the night i phased for the first time," I said quickly "I fell asleep by the river bed before coming back home."

My dad's eyes widend at my words and my mom was soon at my side. She placed her arm around my shoulder and put her lips to my head. "That's very dangerous, Jennifer." My mom stated.

"None of you are ever allowed to go to the boarder alone. Is that understood?" My dad's tone was serious and he was in full Alpha mode.

"Yes, sir." Taylor, Tiffany, Macy and myself said at the same time.
