---Alivia
It had been a little over 3 months since Riley's dad was around with his pack. Riley had taken me to the pack doctor and we found out that we were having a baby boy. Riley was helping my parents set up for the gender reveal party. I was sitting on the porch when our current enemy pack walked down the sidewalk. I was immediately surrounded. "Riley!" Too late. I was grabbed and in my struggle, I fell through the screen door and I hit the floor and couldn't catch myself in time.

I bolted through the house and came face to face with my father. Alivia was on the floor. Blood coated her sweatpants. A growl rumbled through my chest. Alivia's sobbing made me snap out of it. I carried her inside. "Call 911." her mom did. Alivia sobbed in my chest.
That night, I returned home to grab a couple of books for Alivia. My father was sitting on the porch steps when I pulled up. "Riley..."
"Get the fuck out of my life. I never want you near my wife and kids ever again."
"I'm sorry."
"Sorry isn't good enough." he followed me inside. He saw the banner still hanging up in the doorway.
"A boy?"
"You missed it, you know other than the blood, they had to take the stillborn baby. Alivia will never be able to have another baby. Ever."
"Riley, I didn't..."
"Didn't what? You didn't stop anyone from grabbing my wife."
Back at the hospital, I shoved the door into the wall and kicked a couple of trashcans. "Riley?" my mom said.
"Keep my father away from me and my family." I walked into Alivia's room.
"Riley, you're back." She said softly as sleep started to take her.
"I brought the books you requested."
"Thank you." She said

"Will you stay with me?" I asked him as he unzipped the duffel bag.
"Of course I will." he said covering me up with my plush blanket. He moved a chair closer.
"Beside me." I complained.
"Baby, I don't want to crowd you. You'll be sore in a little while and I don't want to make it worse."
"You don't want to be beside me."
"You know I do baby. With the surgery and everything, I just don't want to cause you any pain." he kissed me softly and hugged me. "I love you Ali."
"I love you too Riley." I said. "I'm sorry about the baby." I said feeling tears fall from my eyes. "I'm so sorry."
"Ali, t-that wasn't your fault." I started sobbing. "I should have been with you." he pressed his face into my neck. I felt his tears against my cheek.

I walked in to Alivia's room, Riley was holding her while she slept. He looked up. "Did I wake you?"
"No." he said. "I've been up. Can't sleep."
"You should try."
"I don't think I can. I just wish what happened today could be taken back or something. I-I can't stand to see her hurting so much." His voice broke. He pinched the bridge of his nose and I saw a tear fall from his eyes.
"Riley, I know you're hurting just as much as she is. I'm so very sorry for your loss."
"Things were going so well and I couldn't stop what happened. I should have been with her." I gave his hand a squeeze.
"When she gets released, her dad and I want to know if you wouldn't mind staying with us."
"I appreciate the offer. I really do, but if we need anything we'll just walk across the street. I'm not sure how much company she will be up to."
"Okay. You know the door is always open."
The next day, Alivia was released around 5:30 P.M. I was standing by the window in the living room. Brad pressed a kiss to my forehead. Riley carried Alivia in the girls leading the way. "Bradley, I want to go over there."
"I know, but Alivia needs some time."
"She wanted that baby boy so much."
"I know.
