---Alivia---

Well, after mom had 4 more kids, she finally told dad that it was enough.  There was 6 of us and by the time Jr. and I were 14 mom was pregnant again.  Lauren was 8, Jared was 6, Brandon was 5, Henry was 4.

My best friend Riley had to move with his parents so I was pretty much starting high school by myself.  I was sitting on the bus while Jr. talked to his friends.  Riley sent me a text.  "Have a good first day of school."  he said with a smiley face

"Yeah right."  I texted back.

"Sorry I can't be there with you."

"It's okay.  Tell your mom I said hi."

"K."

After school, I walked into the house, my dad was on the phone with someone.  "Sure Kev.  We'll be around."

(Skipping ahead, I thought I knew how I was going to start Alivia's part, but I guess I don't.  I'm going to skip ahead to her junior year.)

It was before the start of my junior year and my mom was now the school nurse.  My baby sister was staying with Grandma Jackie when my mom worked.  I was recovering from being beat by my ex.  I had a black eye and a broken nose.  My ribs were bruised and I was accused of being a slut as told by Randy.

I was visiting my Uncle Robert and Aunt Kristy with my parents and was sitting on the porch of their house when I smelled a smell I knew all too well.  "Riley."  I said.  I saw Riley walking down the sidewalk with his mom.  "RILEY!"  I ran in his direction and he saw me.

"Alivia!"  he caught me in a giant bear hug.  He pulled away from the hug.  "What're you doing here?  What happened to your face?"

"Visiting my aunt and uncle.  Long story."

They followed me inside.  Riley kept his eyes on me.  His mom, Marci stood in the doorway.  "Girl, you do not look like you had 7 kids."  My mom looked up.

"Marci?"

"The one and only."  my mom hugged her best friend.  I set my book in my bag.

"Want to take a walk with me?"  Riley asked.

"Sure."  I said.  We left the house.

"Well, aside from the obvious, I think you look amazing.  I've missed you."  he said hugging me against his side.

"I mssed you too."

"Are you on summer vacation?"

"Yeah.  I have like a month left."

"You sticking around here?"

"Yeah.  Dad's working at the hospital here for a while, to help out until they get more doctors."

"Cool.

Friday night, Riley and I were watching a movie at his house.  I really liked him and I didn't want to go home.  He was more than my best friend he was my chosen mate.

He walked me back to my aunt's house and kissed my cheek.  "Pizza for lunch tomorrow?"

"Sure."  I said.

"All right.  Goodnight."  he said.

"Night."

Morning came, I was sitting with my mom at the table.  "So, what's going on between you and Riley?"

"Other than that he's my mate, nothing."

"I knew it.  He's always been so over protective of you."

"Can I have pizza with him this afternoon?"

"Sure honey."

Riley showed up at 1:30 and knocked on the door.  My dad opened the door.  "Hello sir."

"Riley, how's it going?"

"Good sir.  I'm here to pick of Alivia."

"Ali, Riley's here."  I stepped beside my dad.

"I had no idea.  You only raced me to the door."  I said rolling my eyes.  "Hey."  I said to Riley.

"Hey."  he smiled.

"Do you have your phone?  my dad asked.

"Yes dad.  We're just going to get pizza and probably catch a movie."  I said pulling Riley's sleeve.

"All right.  Have fun."

After lunch, Riley and I were at the movie theater.  I slid my hand into his and I saw him blush.  My cell phone buzzed and I saw that it was Randy.  "Who's Randy?"

"No one."  I said.  He saw the text.

"Doesn't look like it to me."  he stood up and walked out of the theater.  I followed after him.  I tripped on the curb.  I scrapped up my hands.

"Ouch.  Riley, please, let me explain."  I said   He took my hand and helped me up.  "Beat me a few weeks ago and told everyone I slept with him.  I never did.  He was abusive and that's part of the reason why I'm here.  My dad wanted to make sure I didn't get hurt again.  He felt bad that he couldn't protect me.  I didn't know I'd run into you here and I didn't want you to hate me."

"I don't hate you.  Don't you see that?  I've waited so long to be able to see you again."  he hugged me.  "I like you a lot, so will you be my girl?"

"You're asking me out?"

"Yeah."

"It's about time."  I said.  He laughed.

"Not the answer I was looking for."

"Yes, I'll be your girlfriend."  he smiled.

My mom and dad let us spend every day together before we had to go back home.  Riley and I managed to catch up after the two and a half years apart.

We had to go back home, Riley and I created Skype accounts so we could video chat.  His mom promised they would visit us next break.
