I'm going on a date with Luke Hemmings. An actual real date. Together. On a date. And I know it's a date. He knows it's a date. We're going on a date.
I don't even care that I can't tell anyone.
As soon as left the night he asked me out I got a text from him.
From: Luke
Friday night at 8 work for you?To: Luke
Why so late?From: Luke
Less people out. I figure it would be better if no one spots usTo: Luke
Smart. Ya that works.From: Luke
Great! I'll pick you up.To: Luke
CoolNow I was standing in front of my mirror making sure I looked nice.
I always thought girls were the only ones that cared this much about looking good on dates but this was stressful.
In the end, I decided on black skinny jeans, and a simple black, button up shirt.
I looked at the clock. 7:55.
5 more minutes and then he'd be here. I couldn't wait.
And yet I could.
But I was so afraid.
And my feelings were all over the place.
Then the doorbell rang.
And I screamed a little bit.
After I recomposed myself I went to the door and opened it to see Luke standing there in black skinny jeans, as per usual, and a red flannel.
"Hi." He said once he saw me.
"Hi." I replied.
"You look nice."
"Thanks. So do you."
"Thanks."
We stood there in an awkward silence for a couple minutes.
"Should we go?" Luke finally said after a minute.
"Yeah. Let's go." I grabbed my keys and wallet, making sure I locked the door behind me, then followed him out of my apartment.

"Luke where are we going?" I asked him.
We were in his car and he was driving to a part of the city I wasn't familiar with.
"It's a surprise." He said with a smirk on his face.
"Why is everything always a surprise? I'm going to find out eventually why not just tell me now?" I whined.
He looked over at me and smiled.
"But telling you would ruin the surprise."
I sighed and crossed my arms.
He smiled again.
"Do the other boys know you're out with me tonight?"
I saw him stiffen, then relax a second later.
"Umm no. They don't. I just, they think I'm straight and I'm just not ready to- come out yet. I hope you understand."
"Don't worry about it." I said waving him off. "I get that it's a scary thing to do. Probably even more for you."
"I appreciate that." He gave me a small smile.
"It's not like I can force you to come out or anything. This is, after all, just a first date." I pointed out.
