Laurance's POV

I woke up in a cell, head aching. What happened? Oh right, I was fighting Gene and I suppose he knocked me out. My hands were chained to the wall. Great, I well I guess I won't be getting out anytime soon.

"Hello Laurance.", I heard a voice say.

"Who's there!?", I called out, it sounded familiar.

A figure came out of the shadows, it was..., Aaron?. "I was wondering how long it would be until you came down here. And I'm guess that book you found only drew you closer. That's the only decent thing Enki has ever done."

"You're the voice that was in my head! Who are you and why am I here!?"

"Irene still didn't tell you. I am Shad and you'll find out why you are needed very soon. Gene, you know exactly what to do.", he said and Gene stepped forward and Shad walked away.

Oh hell, I'm either going to die, or..., "Say good-bye to Laurance Zvhal, it will be the last time you'll see him."

Gene's POV

After we had knocked him out, we tried to carry out the rest of Laurance's Shadow Knight transformation since that pesky wyvern took him before it was completed but something was preventing it from happening, so we just moved to the next part of our plan. I walked up to Laurance's cell after Shad was done talking to him and focused my magic on him, to make him forget everything. He'll only remember the cruel thing the overworld did to him. Laurance clutched his head trying to resist my magic. Pfft, pathetic. Nice try premature.

Laurance's POV

I started to forget some things like umm..., I don't know. Gene was erasing all the good memories I had, and leaving the more painful ones, the ones I didn't want to remember.

Laurance, you aren't a monster....

I kill anyone who tries to take you from me....

"Come on Laurance. Just let the darkness in.", Gene's voice said.

No, I can't forget! I have to try fight back!

The Laurance I know wouldn't hurt the innocent....

Laurance, your more than my Guard, your my friend....

I felt everything slipping away, my head was aching by just resisting to forget.

Laurance....

Everything was gone, everything pleasant memory I had was gone, I only had those that pained me the most.

Gene's POV

Finally, he gave in. I then saw his blue eyes change to the wonderful blood red -the colour his soon to be victims, will be covered with very soon- before he laid down on the ground dead asleep. Probably exhausted from fighting back for so long.

"So, has he forgotten?", Shad asked walking up behind me.

"Yes, he has. He is all yours. I doesn't remember anything but the painful things up today at the overworld.", I answered with a small smirk.

"Great. Get ready then, we're going to pay some old friends a visit very soon.", he said walking away, leaving me to take care of Laurance.

"Don't worry Zvhal, your in great hands.", I laughed to myself.
