Chapter 21: The Battle

Aphmau's POV

Garroth and I hadn't talked like normal for the past week. Whenever something that remind us of Aaron he would dismiss himself. He would only come are tell me about Alliance matters and stuff like that. And I was still shaken up by what I saw in the vison at the divine dimension. I then saw Dante at the camping grounds and decided to greet him.

"Dante!"

"Aphmau! How are you?"

"I'm okay, I guess."

"Okay good, but why the living hell?!"

"Huh?"

"Laurance and Garroth have loved you for what forever? Since I've met you they have loved you. And then some 'Stranger' with no shirt showing of his abs comes and you are all over him! Did you even stop to consider the effects of your actions."

Wow news travels fast.

"Dante...", I had no idea what to say, he was right. I've heard this come from Garroth already. Before Dante could saying anything else Malachi ran up to me.

"MOM!" Oh no, is he going to start yelling my ear off too?

"Y-yes Malachi?"

"There is someone at the gates! It's Laurance, I think Aaron and some other guy. And they got a fleet of Shadow Knights behind them!"

"WHAT!", Dante and I both shouted.

"Dante help me get the others and meet back at the portal!", I said running of to find them.

We went through the portal and went straight to the gate.

There stood Shad, Laurance and some other guy behind him, and a fleet of Shadow Knights and souls. There was something deferent about Laurance, all I could feel in his heart was anger and hate.

I looked over to Dante who was in shock, "G-gene?"

That means the guy beside Laurance was his brother he told me about.

"Hello Irene! I'm here for the relic, MY relic!", Shad called out.

"No, never! And I'm NOT Irene!"

"Oh well then we'll just have to do this the hard way then. But then again, we were going to do this either way."

They broke down the walls and all hell broke loose. I saw Cadenza fighting off Shadow souls- because she had come for the meeting I asked Levin to set up- and Lord John also and his guards. We fought of the Shadow Knights and souls that didn't retreat only leaving Shad, Laurance, and Gene.

Laurance was nowhere to be found. Garroth, Katelyn and I were in our forms ready for whatever may come. Katelyn'sform was like her Jury's but not as terrifying and as dull. Shad attacked me first and Gene went after Katelyn, Dante and Garroth. They started to what I thought was retreat and Garroth Katelyn, Dante and I followed them, leaving the others to recuperate. They ran to an area in the forest. Shad struck at me again when we got to a less open space. When I had him down, he used a magic to push me away and when I got back up around me it seemed like time was frozen.

"What?" Even Gene was frozen.

"Now Irene, do you remember that dream you last had with Laurance? Well now it's time for it to come true.", Shad snapped his finger and Laurance came forward out of the forest.

"He has been waiting to do this for a while now." Laurance ran at me and tried to strike me down, I blocked every one of them.

"Laurance please! Stop!"

"HAHA do you think he's going to listen to the person who broke his heart Irene! The same way I won't ever listen to you! Ever since he stepped foot in the Nether I knew that he had a lot of anger inside of him."

What is he talking about?

"Huh?", I said still keeping my focus on Laurance.

"He saw both of his parents die in front of him. You broke his heart. And you left him in the nether. Each one fueling his anger even more!", Shad monologued. 

What, he never told me about any of this. I struck at Laurance knocking him down, he quickly got back up. I didn't let Shad distract me from what I was doing. Laurance's eyes were now blood red, and his sword was already stained with blood, from what I don't want to know. Maybe he put it on there just to intimidate me.

"Ahh!", I screamed as Laurance cut my arm, blood dripping down my arm.

"Ha Ha Haa! Don't you just love blood shed on the battlefield", Shad laughed.

This left just like my dream, all I needed was to wake up. But I knew this wasn't a dream this was real. It was either I kill Laurance or I die. No I'm never going to kill him!

"Don't worry, use your powers...", the voice of Irene said to me.

I ran up to Laurance and grabbed him by the arm. Suddenly a flash of bright light engulfed us.
