Serenity's POV
"Welcome home, sister," Cooper said from Dad's office.
"Hey Coop," I said leaning against the doorframe. "How's it been?"
"Hmm," He hummed. 'Stubborn butt.'
"Let's go on our walk," I pushed. He glanced at me. "And you can tell me what's new in the pack."
With a sigh, he got up and joined me at the door. "I didn't realize how much I've missed you," He said giving me a hug.
"I missed you, too," I whispered returning the hug.
"Now let's go on that walk," He said with a small smile. 'Already brighter.'
Mom and Dad have always called me Cooper's sunshine, the rest of the world seems dull to him without me. I can only imagine how dark and stressful it has been for him these past three weeks.
"Has Amaya or Brianna given birth yet?" I asked as we started our walk around the pack house.
"No, but Brianna only has a week or two left," Cooper answered. "Annie is expecting now, she's three weeks along."
"Bennett is her mate, right?"
"Yes. Also, the Johnson twins turned 18 yesterday."
"I forgot all about their birthday. I'll wish them a happy late birthday the next time I see them."
"Haha, they'll love that from you. Tristan found his mate seconds after they turned 18."
"Who is it?"
"Carlos. Gave the poor kid a heart attack when he tackled him to the ground. It was quite a scene."
"I'm happy for them and not surprised. They've always been close. But what about Mary."
"She has shown no interest in any of the Omegas. But strangely she's been drawn to your room."
"Huh that is strange," I mumbled. I then noticed Braxton watching Cooper. 'Poor guy,' Adolpha whined. Braxton is Cooper's soulmate, his Alpha. But Cooper doesn't feel the connection. I have a small chance of not feeling my soulmate connection either. Becker Omegas all have that chance.
I still remember the conversation from four years ago. Braxton had just turned 18 and went to Dad for advice. Braxton didn't know if he should tell Cooper or if he should wait the nine months for Cooper to turn 18. Dad told him about the Becker Omegas' chance. They both decided to wait to see.
Well now Cooper doesn't believe Braxton because he didn't tell him right away, and Cooper doesn't feel anything. Very stubborn my older brother is.
"How about you? Have you felt anything yet?" I asked. I've lost count of how many times I've asked these questions.
"No," Cooper said simply. I glanced at Braxton again. He was still watching Cooper.
"He watches you know," I sighed. Cooper stopped walking.
"Just because I'm blind in one eye does not mean I can't see," Cooper said looking at me. 'Forget about that.'
"Don't change the subject just because you know I forgot."
"I know he does," Cooper whispered. "Not only can I see him watching, I can feel him."
"You feel him?"
"Like... I don't know. It's probably because I know he's watching."
"You're stupid and stubborn. He's not lying, and even if he was, he still loves you a lot."
"I'm not stupid, stubborn yes, but not stupid. And how can you be so sure?"
"Because you can see the way he looks at you. And he acts differently around you. Just give him a try, Coop," I explained. He sighed and glanced at Braxton.
"Maybe," He whispered before walking back to Dad's office. 'Guess our walk is over.'
"I knew it was you," a voice said as arms wrapped around my waist and a face buried it's self into my neck.
'Huh!'
