(This chapter kind of doesn't make any sense, however it seemed cool)
Who Really Is That
"Can we start already?" Kyo whined like a little boy. He was pouting and has a really sad face. Mico rolled his eyes and simply walked away causing Kyo to follow him like a lost puppy.
"Did you guys hear?" Marquis said with a childish glint in his eyes. We all looked at him giving our attention, however we were clueless of why Marquis had such excitement wore on his face. "Our games is goong to be broadcasted on World Wide Television!"
I rose an eyebrow confused and Xavier rolled his eyes, "It's a channel meaning literally what it says."
"Well I get that, but why?" I argued with Xzavier who growled at me and we continued staring each other down.
"Because some famous coach guy that has lived in many places is the owner of this building and runs the tournament board. However I heard he was hospitalized a few years ago and is still in a wheelchair," Marquis explained to all of us and we nodded understanding his explanation.
"It's just a regular season game though, I don't understand why they want to broadcast THIS game." Mico said.
Xzavier sighed and Kyo laughed. Remo pointed over to the other team at Thomas, "Because he's supposedly number 1 in the nation."
"It pisses me off!" Xzavier said in agony rather than anger, "I mean, come on, I'm better than him; after all, I never stop improving." Xzavier kept mumbling to himself and I chuckled along with Remo. Kyo however didn't hold back his laughter and laughed at Xzavier loudly.
"I'll hold him back for ya! Maybe tire him out for you, then maybe I'll be able to stay marked on him the entire time," Kyo said provoking Xzavier whose aura sparked.
"Welcome to Teikō Gymnasium."
What the hell? That's what this place is called? Who in their right mind would know about Teikō?
"We are broadcasting live in channel World Wide Television where we have a special guest with us here today hosting this game. Coach Kozo, would you like to say a few words?" An announcer said and I stood up straight spinning around to look at the middle of the court where the man I did not want to see sat in his wheelchair. From what I gathered back then, I was sure he passed away.
"Hello," he said, "I'm Kōzō Shirogane, I've coach for many teams from Japan to Germany and to America's very own NBA. I'm the owner
of this building, I hope it's a good game."Serious as always.
Though, I wasn't serious. I was more full of shock and fear rather than seriousness. We still had 20 minutes before the game started and I saw Thomas being pulled by some reporter for an interview and saw the old man talking to some reporters.
"I heard he's a legend," Marquis said with glee.
"But isn't he a super tough cookie?" Kyo asked.
"What do you think, Suya. Suya?" I heard people talking but I ignored them and began walking over to the old man who I haven't seen in years.
"Coach Shirogane." I spoke serene and simple. The old man jumped in his wheelchair and turned to face me. His eyes widened and he apologized to the reporters rolling over to me.
"Well if it isn't Mr. 6 man phantom. Hello, Kuroko. How are you?"
"I'm perfect," I said with a blank stare but still looking down on him like he's a terrible man.
"That's good to hear. How is everyone else?" I shrugged and he rose an eyebrow confused. "Wouldn't you know though? You do play against them."
"I don't play against them, I play with my own team here." I pointed to my teammates who were very confused or not paying attention to me.
The old man's eyes widened with amusement, "That's good for you. So, have you found a point guard then. Your team seems to be full of good players just by the look, though they are kind of small. You probably don't have a lot of mental strength and not as much practice as other teams. You don't have a coach, perhaps." I cut him off.
"You stay away from my team." I demanded shocking the old man as my aura grew. "If you even think about contacting our school about becoming a coach, I will end you."
He chuckled and looked at me, "Alright then, don't come running to me when you loose."
I turned my back and spoke, "I won't have to, we won't loose." I walked away and back to my teammates.
"Yo, Suya. Are you go." Xzavier stopped mid sentence as he saw my losses off face.
"I'm going to kill something."
Everyone looked at me like I was the scariest thing ever. "Big brother?" I snapped out of my daze and looked at Kaho. I smiled and ruffled her hair.
"I'm okay." I said with a smile. "Let's get this over with," I said walking onto the court and my team yelled 'yeah' behind me.
(Somewhere in Japan)
Kise's POVKagamicchi and Aomineicchi were over at my house today as we were hanging out due to the fact we were practicing for our summer team every other day and this was our only day off.
We weren't really doing anything.
"I heard some super American dude is playing today on the World channel." Aomine said casually. He doesn't usually compliment people so I'm guess this American would have to be good.
"When did it start?" Kagami asked taking the remote beside him and trying to find the channel.
"About 20 minutes ago. Apparently this team is supposed to win their whole conference, then their state thing or whatever. Kind of like ours but not as many teams." Aomine explained. Such a nerd when it comes to basketball, no matter what country.
Aomine got a phone call at that moment while Kagami was trying to find the channel. "Mm?" The phone was on speaker now and Moi moi's voice screamed into the phone.
"Turn on World Wide Channel right now!" She sounded energetic, exhausted and out of breath, and most of all, terrified.
"Oh, are you watching it? Who's winning?" I asked.
"Dude, I already told you. That team with that American guy who is number 1 in America is going to win." Aomine said annoyed with me.
"No, Dai-chan." She said and Kagami pressed the right channel finally.
"And another point for Juba High! This folks was not how Birch Hill thought was going to play today. They were favored to win today but it's almost half time and they are down 46 points! Thomas Williams, number 1 in the nation of the United States of America, was being beaten by a young man of the name Kyo Tanaka; however as of Juba's last time out, number 16, Xzavier Hoose, has shut down Thomas completely."
I know that name. I met him at the airport with Kurokocchi....holy shit.
"The point of Juba High are spread out immensely as they all seem to be competing for the most points, as of right now, Kuroko Tetsuya is leading with a total of 20 points!" I sat there for a moment, we all did, letting it sink in.
Huh?
"What!" I sat up and looked closer at the tv where Kurokocchi's face was on the screen. His presence, even over the television, we terrifying. It was as if a different man was placed within the body of my friend.
"Well folks, it looks like this game is one sided today. The captain of Juba Academy seems to be the best player on that court right now. Is Thomas Williams playing his all today? Or is he just being beaten by unknown players?"
"No way. That's impossible, who is that?" Kagami shouted and Aomine was silent with sadness, grief, pain, and fear running through his eyes as we watched this game.
Who was Kuroko Tetsuya?
