"Hiccup?"

"Shit, shit, shit!"

"You know Hiccup, sometimes your bad luck surprises even me."

"Shut up!"

"You realize the female can't hear this coversation right? And she knows you're here."

"That's not why I said shut u-nevermind, let me handle this please."

Seeing that Toothless was no longer arguing with him, Hiccup turned his attention to the next piece of bad luck the universe decided to throw at him.

"Ca-Cami hey!"

"Um, Hiccup, I hope you know your not supposed to be here."

"Yeah, uh-yeah, I mean-"

"You are really bad at this Hiccup."

"SHUT UP"

" I mean, I'm just uhh, exploring."

"Exploring?"

"Yes! Just exploring you know." It sounded more like a question.

"Your exploring...at night, alone, near our treasury?"

"Yes?"

Cami had by now come into view. It had nearly now been a year since Hiccup had last saw her. She was taller, and looked more like a perfect heir than anything. In spite of himself Hiccup blushed a bit. She was looking at him, still confused, and Hiccup could almost hear the cogs and gears working in her mind, no doubt she would figure out what he was doing here soon enough. Hiccup slowly started to edge back, and just as he was about to dissapear back into the darkness, Cami jumped up and grabbed his hand, her thief reflexes serving her well.

"What are you really doing here, Hiccup?"

Hiccup gulped, when she used that tone, Hiccup knew bad things were about to happen. Cami wouldn't hurt him, but she would question him about why he was here, and the word could get back to Berk, berk, just the thought of that island made his head and chest hurt again. Before Hiccup could try to figure out how to get out of this situation, Toothless did it for him. He felt sharp talons grab his tunic and the pack at his side. He flew upwards, quickly wrapping his legs around Toothless and pulling himself up.

"I better not always have to get you out of danger, you need to start to lear- nevermind."

"Yes, yes, I'm a weakling!"

"DON'T say that. I do not allow WEAKLINGS to ride me."

"Thor geez, calm down. I'm not a weakling. I'm the strongest viking alive, the bane of the dragons and the pride of my village!"

"That may be a stretch."

"So do you even know why we are just flying south?"

Hiccup jerked awake.

"What?"

"Where are we going?"

It had been several hours since the pair of them had left the Bog Burglar island and Hiccup felt practically frozen on Toothless's back.

"You know, I have no idea. I was just trying to get away from Berk."

"Your kidding right?"

"Would it help if I said yes?"

Toothless groaned and shook his head.

"Just go south Toothless, I'm sure that anything there is better than Berk."

And so the pair flew and flew. Every few hours they would take breaks on sea cliffs and abondoned islands. The supply of food that Hiccup had thought was more than enough, decreased at an incredible rate. Hiccup and Toothless were lounging on a 30 by 30 ft. rock sticking out of the ocean, nearly 50 feet high. Hiccup was steadily cooking a piece of jerky on a Toothless-made fire. Hiccup pulled off the jerky and looked at it. It looked almost exactly the same. Hiccup sighed:

"Unfortunate."

Toothless snorted.

"I can't believe you two-legs have to cook your meat before eating it. Ridiculous."

As the day progressed, the pair mostly sat in comfortable silence until they heard the sounds of clanging metal and and shouting voices. Hiccup sat up and gathered the supplies, quickly jumping on Toothless.

The pair flew up in the quickly darkening sky and set off towards the sounds. As they flew, the things creating the sounds became apprarent: Two fleets of ships, the designs of which Hiccup had never seen were locked in combat whith each other. Well, not exactly a combat, one side was completely battering the other side, whereas the other side didn't seem to retaliate in any way.

"Look Toothless! They're supply ships! They don't have any weapons to defend themselves, we gotta help."

"We  don't know who we are helping, and we shouldn't aid an unkown party."

"It doesn't matter who we help, this battle is not fair, nor is it glorious."

This seemed to be enough for Toothless and they dived down. As Toothless came into view, both people in both ships starting shouting and pointing in a language that neither Toothless or Hiccup recognized. As they both got closer, Hiccup nearly fell out of the saddle in shock. The people in the ships were not normal. There were some humans, but they're were also very very small people. They had long beards and carried hammers, which they were waving at the opposing ships, but they were also only three feet tall. Even Hiccup, who was one of the shortest 'Vikings' on Berk, was taller than the tallest of them.

"What are THOSE?"

"Don't act like the dwarfs are things Hiccup, they are as smart as any human, and most probably smarter than you."

"I've never heard of 'dwarfs', how far have we flown? According to my map, we should be in the outskirts of the archipelago."

"HA, you think we're in the archipelago still? You're mapping skills are really, really bad then. How slow do you think I am? We left the archipelago days ago!"

"Wait, then where are we?"

"I have no idea, I only know of the dwarfs from the few memories I still have from my youth. I also remeber my sire used to tell me stories about such places when I was young, but my own mind doesn't let me see them."

The pair was now in full view of both fleets of ships, and Hiccup finally heard something in a language he knew:

"By Helzvog's beard! It's a Dragon Rider!"
