Hiccup started walking. He often checked behind him and above him for the elusive black dragon. He would know if Toothless woke up, but he couldn't count on knowing whether Toothless knew where he was. Sighing he made his way back to the tall ornate gates he had visited that morning. Hiccup's feet often caught on stray brambles that hadn't been moved on his previous attempt to make his way through the forest unscathed. After nearly an hour of randomly falling and half scared glances behind him Hiccup emerged into the same village he had arrived in that day.

Hiccup moved through the village, the contents of which were moving about. Once again, he heard snatches of conversations and as he understood them, he felt the oddly uncomfortable pressure on his head and tongue. Choosing to ignore the sensation, Hiccup came into sight of Tethoris. The sight of the huge city never failed to take his breath away. He began to walk towards the huge doors that were clearly visible from where Hiccup was now when a small girl ran up to him.

"Hello Sir!"

And without continuing the conversation or giving Hiccup a chance to reply, she pressed a small yellow flower in his hand. Hiccup tucked the flower inside of one of his pockets on his pants. And thanked her retreating back. He continued his journey to the doors, and as he arrived, he noticed the guards that had greeted him that morning had been changed by a bigger burlier looking set of guards. Once again Hiccup realized the illusion of unguardedness the two guards showed, but Hiccup knew there were many more of those guards along the walls.

The guards accosted him as he made his way up the hill towards the entry.

"What purpose do you have in Tethoris?"

Unlike last time, there was no cheery guard to help Hiccup.

"Just visiting some family members." The guard replied, "Where do you come from? From anywhere near The Sceptre?", by the way the guard talked about 'The Sceptre' it wasn't somewhere he should be.

"No, I come from far up North."

The guard made a waving motion towards the gate, and as Hiccup made his way into the city the other guard shouted, "The doors close in one hour! You'll have to wait till morning to leave." Hiccup rapidly made the decision to continue into the city. Ill tell Toothless once he wakes up,

Fishlegs walked slowly through the main village square writing in his journal.

The effects of the fluseweed seemed to encourage plant growth more compared to fluxleaf. It also yeilded better results in terms of plant length, but in terms of i-

He was interupted by Astrid shouting his name, "Fishlegs! Have you seen Hiccup? The chief told me to look for him, but I can't find him anywhere!"

Fishlegs froze. He asked stupidly, "Have you looked in the forest?" By now, Astrid had caught up to him, and she gave him a side-long glance. Fishlegs corrected himself, "Of-of course you looked in the forest. Umm, well, I haven't seen him since I saw him going to the forest."

"Where?" Astrid asked urgently.

"Pretty sure it was near your house, at night? I think. A few days ago?" Fishlegs replied, looking surprised at the amount of emotion Astrid was showing. Usually she was always (for the lack of a better word) stoic faced and serious.

Astrid was now the one to freeze. She had a bad feeling she knew what night Hiccup was near her house heading towards forest. She had heard the sounds of leaves and trees rustling after her explosive outburst. At the time, she unconciously assumed the sounds were the wind, but now she realized that there hadn't been any wind for the past week or so.

"I-uh, um, I'll just go and look in the forest again... bye!"

Fishlegs could hardly beleive that Astrid had just stuttered in a sentence. He looked at her retreating back feeling confused, and feeling confused wasn't something he liked to feel.

Hiccup walked through the city, eventually stopping to ask a small raggedy street boy where the right corner of the city was. The boy gave him detailed instructions and warned about the danger of that part of the city at night.

"There are robbers, theives and murderers. But there is also magic there. The most magic you'll find on this side of The Sword."

Hiccup questioned him multiple about what this 'magic' was, but he wouldn't elaborate. Giving the boy a single copper for his troubles, Hiccup made his was towards the right corner of the city, leaving a very confused boy staring at the unfamiliar coin in his hand.

Hiccup followed the winding streets toward the right corner, and Hiccup realized, with some apprehension, that the flow of people lessened considerably the further he made his way to the right corner. The only people who were left as Hiccup finally reached his destination were shady people who had hoods, shadows, and even full masks covering their faces. Hiccup carefully distanced himself them.

Hiccup whispered to himself: Ok, I need to find whoever or whatever this black parrot is. How do I do this?

Hiccup continued to walk around the right corner, cursing himself for not thinking this far. He walked until he realized all the ravens were flying in one direction. For someone who wasn't looking specifically for black birds, you wouldn't notice, but Hiccup was looking for any clue. He followed the erratic paths of the birds that eventually always led in one direction and came up on a nearly pitch black part of the street that didn't seem to have any living things in it besides the ravens. As Hiccup hesitantly came closer, he felt someone behind him. The voice was low and came from directly behind him.
