As Hiccup drew, the lines slowly went from simple lines, circles, and shapes, into the sleek body of the Nightfury. Hiccup drew from the memories of his two past encounters of the Nightfury. Hiccup had a strong memory when used for drawing, almost always having to mentally photograph a scene before drawing it hours later. Though Hiccup had these attributes in his memory the darkness and the shock of the moment made the sketch rough, with several parts made from partial imagination.

As Hiccup continued drawing he remembered the events of the morning. After he had stayed the night in the cove using the scrawny shelter he had left there, getting a few fitful hours of sleep, he had come back to home to a shouting father. After the inevitable and almost memorized conversation about how he needed to take the raids and everything else more seriously, Hiccup had headed up to his room to get some proper sleep, and after waking had started his drawing. Hiccup knew he had dragon training in a few minutes, and that he needed to be there on time to avoid another public telling down by his father. He got up and after cleaning up his numerous drawing tools headed towards the arena.

Hiccup watched as once again  Fishlegs ran screaming "I'M STARTING TO QUESTION YOUR TEACHING METHODS" to Gobber as the Deadly Nadder chased him through the impromptu maze that was set up in the arena. The twins through sheer luck managed to find their way to the Deadly Nadder's blind spot, but as they started one of their regular brawls right in from of the dragon they nearly got incinerated. Snotlout managed to embarrass himself again in from of Astrid, like he needs to try. And once again Astrid managed to do something right by saving Fishleg's life after he was sprawled on the ground from a shove made by Snotlout. Hiccup cringed for Fishlegs as Astrid started shouting at him:

"Is this some kind of joke to you?!? Our parents war is about become OURS, figure out what side you're on."

Fishlegs continued to cringe on the ground as Astrid walked away seething. As Hiccup made to leave the area, Gobber grabbed his hand and said:

"OK, Hiccup, where did everyone go wrong today?"

Hiccup knew he was dead as soon as he heard that, but he knew he had to answer else Gobber would inevitably report to his father.

"Uhh, well, the Twins started to argue, and didn't focus, so that... yea. Umm, Snotlout was trying to show off to much, and I don't see anything that Astrid did wrong."

Ah shit.  Hiccup knew he was dead just by the look Snotlout was giving him. Did he even think about what he was saying?

"Well, that's really good Hiccup, the rest of you git out, we'll talk more at dinner at the great hall."

Hiccup tried to make his way fast into the forest, the only place where he could lose the twins and Snotlout, but alas, as soon as he couldn't see the main village anymore, he felt strong arms grab ahold of his arms. Hiccup resigned himself to the painful kicks, punches, and etc. that were to come.

The wind felt good under his wings. The dragon training was exhausting. The little hatchlings didn't like to listen to anyone, but themselves, and Shade was tired of the constant scolding and roaring he was having to do to get them to be quiet. He was the most hated dragon in the nest, but ever since the humans started using the flying snakes that wrapped up dragon wings and tails, and flying stones that knocked them out of the sky, IT had forced the dragons to let him teach the younglings how to fly properly and not get caught and killed, as he was the master of aerodynamics. There was going to be a raid tonight Shade knew, IT was getting hungrier again after finishing all the food the dragons had brought it last month.

As Shade led the raid forward shouting orders to gather as much livestock as possible, but NOT as the risk of their lives. He thought about all the dragons that were going to die in the next few hours. He had given the same speech hundreds of times before, but it was a good reminder before every raid. Shade remembered the first time IT had arrived three-hundred season cycles ago. Yes, Shade was quite ancient. He remembered the times when he played with his brothers and his one sister. He also remembered the love of his mother and father who were the alphas the nest. IT had then arrived promising a safer and more bountiful life in the nest as its alpha, and how it would destroy the humans we had lived in peace with before. After the dragons had refused IT's leadership, IT had challenged my father for the leadership. The fight was close, but the sheer size of IT prevailed in the end. Young Shade watched as his father fell in the gaping maw of IT. His mother had died later from depression. His brothers and sisters were all killed opposing the leadership of IT, and eventually Shade had pledged his leadership to IT in return for the safety of his last smallest brother. Here in his thoughts Shade faltered. His brother had vanished one day he had come back from a raid. To this day, Shade had no idea what had happened to him. Shade shook himself out of the past, and focused on the raid that was about tp happen. He wished he could leave the nest, but the pledge he had given IT stopped him from doing anything against IT's orders. The magic inside of his blood was infused by the power of his pledge and if he ever left he would die soon after.  He had a saying : better to be hated than be dead.

As Shade branched off the main body of the dragons and headed towards the cliff from which he could view the whole village, he thought about the small scrawny human that he had met twice before; once when he was starving, and second in the month before. As Shade thought about how calming and familiar the scent of the human was, he remembered the only words he remembered from his father: Humans can be destructive, but they can also be one of us.

Authors Notes: Here are some questions some people could be curious about and so:

Is there going to be any mythology throw in there with him meeting gods or elves/dwarves?----I am thinking about adding some sort of god or magic/mythology, but it won't be the sort of mythology your thinking. I don't really have a plotline whatsoever, I sit down and I just write 1000 words at a time, so I'm surprised the book has done this well this far. The location Hiccup is going to go to after he leaves, I still haven't really decided. I will make sure to give you guys a vote in the later chapters, because I can do that, because I don't have a plotline. I will ask you guys what you prefer, and the answer to your question is... maybe? Will Hiccup and Toothless be able to communicate? (Or is that something I'll have to read to find out?)----I plan on trying to make some sort of somewhat realistic way for them to talk to each other (don't worry, no modern gadgets that connect their brains or anything). This question also falls in with the answer above, because the location, time, and the magic systems of that place would affect how I would do this. SO the answer to you question is... Ima try to do this. Are there going to be any tribes/characters from the book series?----I would love to put characters like Cami/Thuggory, but I would have to do more research on their characters, because you know that I like to have realistic characters, and from the amount of fanfics I've read, their characters have gotten really blurry. It would be nice, so once again sorry for no straight answer, but here it is... If the opportune moment arises I will definitely put them in, maybe not as main characters, but definitely as some important supporting ones.

Also if you have any ideas about places you want Hiccup to run away to please comment them, (no Rome/modern day). Cya :D.
