relationship: newly married, on your honeymoon

warm. warm and soft and comfortable, gentle european sunlight caressing your exposed back. a sleepy smile lay on your lips as you began to wake, snuggling further into the heavy duvet on top of you, letting the weight lull you back into a dreamy haze. the welcoming scent of coffee and something sweet you couldn't decipher danced around your head, prompting your eyes to open slowly, letting them adjust to the sight in front of you.

your fiance-- husband, your husband, stood facing away from you, the soft light from the windows resting upon the glowing skin of his back, muscles shifting with every move he made. a soft blush grew among your cheeks at the slight reminder of the previous night with his bare back, and your naked body that you'd just now noticed. it was perfect-- everything was perfect. you let out another yawn and gave up on heading back to sleep, and sat up in bed, pulling the cover up to block your chest. vinnie heard your small groan from across the room and glanced back to see you now awake.

"well look who's awake," he chuckled, turning his body fully to face you, walking to your side of the bed where he took a seat, bringing his hand up to cup your cheek, his lips curling upwards as you nuzzled into the touch.

"hi," you whispered in response, letting the small kiss he left on your forehead fill the comfortable silence. vinnie traced his finger down your face to your neck and back up again, leaving small goosebumps and a shiver in its wake.

"i've got some food here for us, if you're hungry that is." you nodded at his words and rubbed the sleep out of your eyes with the heels of your palms before reaching blindly onto the floor to grab a sweater that lay victim to last night and pulling it over your head. you stepped to follow vinnie out of the room before he turned to face you abruptly.

"oh, and one more thing--" he reached to grab your jaw gently with both hands before bringing his lips to yours, the soft clicks of smooth skin the only sounds in the room. he pulled back and looked at you with the widest grin on his face, "good morning, mrs. hacker."

you blushed at his words, smiling up at him and cupping his face with both of your hands. "good morning, mr. hacker, husband, love of my life," you brought his forehead to touch yours softly, "my everything." he left one last kiss after your words and led you down the hall of the villa, the wooden floors and slight breeze as beautiful as it had been the night before.

"so i got a whole bunch of stuff," vinnie started, letting you slide onto the cushioned bench at the table, eyes widening at the sight of all the foods in front of you. luscious fruits, golden pancakes and waffles alike, bacon, croissants, and jars of toppings and dressings to add for preference. "i didn't know what you'd feel like so i got what you love to choose from." his thoughtfulness brought a blush to your cheeks once more, and you reached out across the table to where he was sat to grab his hand and thanked him with a gracious smile.

as the two of you ate, you surveyed the beautiful decor of the italian villa you'd chosen to stay in, all natural beach woods and pastel color pops. large windows lined one side of the open room to the side of the table, and you watched as people went about their own lives down in the crowded streets, weaving in and around buildings. the expanse of the ocean beyond the small city was an unreal sight, and vinnie had specifically made sure to prioritize that aspect of it for you, knowing how much you love the water.
