13. period

a/n: long time no see everyone !! hope you're all doing well. this is more of a draft to give me time for a piece that i'm working on, but i still hope you guys enjoy it :)

relationship: established relationship, slightlyolder! vinnie

 you didn't think you'd ever remembered feeling as weak as you did now, curled into yourself under your covers, a thick heating pad laying across your stomach and a pillow pushed underneath the arch in your back in attempts to alleviate your pain. your head throbbed as you tried to bury yourself further into your arms and occasionally shift your weight from one side of your body to the other when one became too sore to deal with.

it hadn't helped that you weren't prepared for mother nature to grace you when she had, leaving a nice surprise for you when you woke up. cleaning up crimson stains on white bedding was something you despised, and having to do it alone with your cramps settling in had left you in a less than ideal mood. you'd climbed back into bed after exchanging the soiled sheets for new ones and hadn't left since, letting yourself drown in your duvet, wishing to be feeling happier than you were.

you rolled over to face the window of your room, exposing the beautiful framed view of Los Angeles in the dark, early hours of the morning. streams of fluorescent and red-tinted lights blurred through the glass pane as they passed through the city and you dazedly watched them by, momentarily distracting yourself from the events of the previous hour. glancing at the clock, you frowned, sighing small before reaching out to grab the glass of water on your night stand placed right next to your phone.

it's too early to text vin, you thought, swallowing the rest of the liquid inside your cup, gently dragging your finger around the rim unconsciously. of course, he would never tell you that, always stressing to you that he was available to you any time of the day or night, no matter what the circumstances were. you knew that if you did it, you'd immediately feel guilty about doing so, chancing waking him up before 5am, but you also knew if you didn't do it, and vinnie found out, he wouldn't be happy with you.

deciding against your better judgement, and tired of feeling sick and alone, you picked up your phone and unlocked it, letting your thumb hover over your messages. your initial guilt would dissolve the moment vinnie responded, a quick on my way baby sending relief flooding into your system as you rested your phone back onto your night stand. you'd simply told him that you weren't feeling good, and that you didn't want him coming over until he was awake and okay to drive, but he'd said he was already awake, and that he would be on his way as soon as he could be.

your heart fluttered at the thought of vinnie coming over to help you feel better, simply because you'd asked him to. you felt slightly selfish at your actions, but slowly pushing away from that, you let his words from his message reassure you that he was doing this because he wanted to, not because you'd pushed him into it.

you let your eyes droop shut, shuffling back into your blankets with ease as you waited for your boyfriend to arrive.

"baby," vinnie whispered, and you groaned lightly, feeling the bed dip under his weight as he climbed onto it, lifting the covers to get underneath. "it's me, y/n."

"mhm, i got that," you mumbled, turning your half-conscious form into vinnie's chest, his arms instinctively wrapping around you in response.

"you doing okay?" you kept quiet at the question, letting his presence sooth you back into a subconscious state. "hey, look at me," he prompted, lightly pressing his hands to your skelp to tilt it up towards him. you protested, forcing against his grip and pushing your face into his bare chest. he chuckled at your actions, choosing you run his fingers through your hair instead. "it's just you don't usually do this, and i was worried about you. that's all, baby."
