Eva POV

After Ron got his howler from Mum, Ginny and I have been in a great mood.

I'm really excited for Defensive Against the Dark Arts (DADA) but unfortunately, Lockhart is teaching. I don't really like him. He's too cocky and doesn't actually seem to know anything. The other teacher I don't really like is Snape. Ron told us about him last year. He doesn't like him either.

Ginny heads to bed early afterward but I stay up with Mione, Ron, and Harry talking. Mione tells us that she really likes Lockhart. I wrinkle my nose in disgust. Ugh. I'm surprised though. I didn't think that Mione would. Ginny seems to like him a little more than I do but not as much as Mione. I don't understand why.

Mione said that he released a whole bunch of freshly caught Cornish pixies on them. Harry adds the part where he ran away when they got out of control. Ron and Harry don't seem to like him very much. I think it's mostly all girls that faun over him.
Ron admires Mione. I just know it. He praises her for stopping the Cornish Pixies from doing too much damage but Harry tells me that they put Neville on the chandelier. Ouch.

I eventually get tired and start on my homework. Yes. Already. Lockhart and Snapes doing.

I go to open up my textbook but something else falls out with it. It is a book. Tom Marvolo Riddle is what it said on the bottom right-hand corner.

I open it. I stare in wonder at the blank pages. There is nothing written on any of them. I push it off the side and start on my homework. As I draw ink, some of it falls onto the mysterious book. Then it disappears. I look again. Nope. It's definitely not there anymore. I decide to try it again. Yep. It disappears.

I try to test it. Hi, my name is Gineva Weasley. I wrote. The letters disappear. Soon new letters appear below it. Hi Gineva Weasley. I am Tom Riddle. This is cool. I decide to grab some sleep before I tell Ginny in the morning. Then we can test it together. I slip under my covers and soon I'm fast asleep.
