Bella P.O.V

His green eyes show his disappointment, maybe my question, was he expecting something else? What else? This bastard has been lying and doesn't expect me to be mad or confused.

"Can we talk about it over lunch? Eric gave you the rest of the day off, his ex-wife called him," he said.

I shake my head. "I want answers."

"Not in the women's bathroom, Bella. I admit, you need answers and this time I think you'll be pleased when I give them to you."

"What I need to know?" I ask, crossing my arms. "What I've learned about you Edward it's that there are limits to your information."

"You'll be getting more, I promise." His hand reaches out for me, his expression is filled with promises. I look at it, doubting to take it. I'm letting him in, inch by inch every time I take it but he closes even more.

"Why won't you let me know about you?" I asked, "I feel like you're hiding more."

"I'm hiding it because I want to protect you," he said, still waiting for me to take his hand.

"From what?" I whisper, my legs start to slightly shake and I feel like tears start to form in my eyes.

"Me."

I sigh, "That... That doesn't make any sense. I-" I hide my face in between my hands and let out a sob. His lies are too much to take in, I can't take it anymore.

His arms wrap around me, pressing me against his firm chest. I hide my face on his white shirt, covering it with tears, sobbing quietly. He pulls me away and cups my face with his big hands, his long, soft fingers wipe away the tears.

"Bella, I'm sorry for putting you through this. I tried to let you go after I bailed on you on our date and after we slept together for the first time, but I couldn't. You're the first thought that comes in my mind when I wake up, and the last one when I go to sleep. I don't want to lose you."

I shake my head, again. "You're hiding way too much from me. I need answers, I need more."

He sighed, looking straight into my eyes. Green to chocolate, just our eyes looking at each other. For a second, I'm surprised to see that's there's pain in his eyes. Something is tormenting him.

He grabs a wipe from the box next to the sink, he wets it and wipes it over my tears. I sniff, looking at the floor as he softly wipes my face clean. Once he's done, he places soft kisses on my cheeks, down to my lips and gives me a small peek.

Without saying a word, he takes my hand and gives me my purse and we walk out the women's bathroom like it was the most natural thing. Luckily, there was no one around to see us, so it was a piece of cake, sort of.

The entire ride back to my place was quiet. Not a single sound from him, not a glance, both his hands gripping the stirring wheel. This day past from a wonderful morning to a disaster of a afternoon, why can't it be easy? Why can't he open up just a little? Maybe because he just met me, is this just sex? That's why he's avoiding giving me information?

I should've have known, I'm not even sure what exactly we are. On the one side he says I'm his girlfriend, on the other he denies telling me anything about him.

When we get to my place, he opens the door for me like a gentleman and takes me inside. Still without saying a word, he walks to my kitchen like it's his house and grabs two beers. I don't know, maybe it's now traditional for us to drink beer when we're about to have a serious conversation. He opens one and gives to me, opens another and drinks it himself.

"Why did you lie to me?" I asked, looking at my beer. "Why didn't you tell me who you were when we met?"

He takes another, long sip of his beer and said, "Because I didn't think it would go this far. At first, I saw you and well, I liked you. I just wanted one night, that's the type of man I am. One night. But then, you started to avoid me," he chuckled, "no women ever avoided me."

Of course not.

"That made me think and think about you day and night," he continued, "I would see you jog, hide in here, trying to live a prefect life. It surprised me more that you didn't know who I was when we met, or your family. I wanted to take advantage of that, have what I wanted and leave, but that morning after our first night together I felt like I never wanted to let you go, I decided to try a relationship but you ran."

"I was scared," I said, shyly. "I knew you were hiding something, I didn't know if I wanted to be involved."

"Do you know, now?" He asked.

"Depends."

"Depends on what?" He growled.

"On what I think after you tell me the truth," I said. "I met Edward, a guy who lived across the street, he had no siblings, no family and worked as a mechanic. Now, I'm sitting in front of Edward Cullen who's happens to be doing investments in the company I work in, has an apartment somewhere in Seattle and owns an Audi R8. Who exactly are you?"

His green eyes darken, his lips turn into a thin line as he looks at me. "My father is the president of Cullen Enterprises, Inc, architecture, building five star hotels, designer store, etc. He makes investments in companies he's interested in making grow even more. He sent me here to take care of the companies he owns here because soon he'll be retiring and will give me the lead of the Cullen Enterprises, Inc."

"That's how you figured out about me, didn't you?" I faked a chuckle, "you could've just asked the company, you could've just taken my file and figure out more."

He nodded. "Of course, I need to know who's working in the company I'm putting my money on when I inherit my father's company."

"Of course," I mutter, looking away. I bite my lower lip, wondering what now.

"Bella?" I look at him, now he's kneeling besides me. How did he get here? He slowly strokes my cheek and says, "you're the only person that matters to me right now. The only one, that besides the sort period of time that we know each other, has made me feel... alive."

"So, you want me to stay with you?"

"I want you to agree to be mine," he said. "I can't let you go, not now."

"What would happen after that?" I asked. "What would happen when you get tired of me and decided to push me away?"

He shyly smiled and said, "I don't think that's going to happen."
