(M/n)'s eyes watered as the horse continued on. The rough ride was beginning to make him feel sick. It was clear that he definitely did not learn to ride a horse before. He placed a trembling hand on his mouth, trying to prevent himself from releasing anything unnecessary from his mouth.
How much longer was this going to go on for? How the hell was he going to get this horse to stop?! He let out a frustrated whine and attempted to sit up on the horse. It was a bad decision to make.
The speed the horse was going at created a strong wind around him. He grunted as he felt himself slipping off. He reached for the horse's mane too late and he flew off.
He gasped as he went flying backwards. A loud thud sounded as he unceremoniously fell to the ground. His head smashed against an old tree root that peeked out of the soil.
(M/n) groaned, clutching his head. He shuddered as his world began to spin. A warm substance began to fill up the palm of his hand. Was that. . . Blood?. . . (M/n) squeezed his eyes shut, his breaths laboured.
He always had to make the stupidest of decisions. He was in this predicament because of what he'd done. There was no escaping it. He opened his eyes, but found that he struggled to even keep them open for a second.
(M/n)'s eyes filled with tears as his vision began to blur around the edges. Was he going to die?. . . What would Kenshin do if he found out that his beloved had passed away? He shook his head, grimacing as he did. He didn't dare think about that.
All his memories of their time together hadn't come back just yet but it was evident from their intimate moments back in Kasuguyama that he was someone very special to Kenshin and that he was not eager to let him go, ever.
"I'm sorry. . . Kenshin." (M/n) whispered in a shaky voice. It hurt. Every part of him hurt. He did not want to go like this. . .
♔ Nobunaga's POV ♔
Nobunaga smirked to himself as he rode ahead of his attendant, Hideyoshi. He didn't expect this. . . The boy was much more bolder than he first appeared. Nobunaga ran his tongue across his lower lip. He would have fun playing with this boy until the time came for them to go to war with Kenshin.
"Lord Nobunaga, you did not need to assist me in this! It's my fault after all that the hostage managed to escape." Hideyoshi exclaimed. Nobunaga turned his carnelian eyes to the brunette with a gruff chuckle.
"I was the one who let him escape me. I watched him leave. Do not worry. I'm sure we'll find him, after all, he is unfamiliar with the domain since he was unconscious when he made his way to our territory." Nobunaga murmured to Hideyoshi before turning his eyes back to the route ahead of him.
He instantly pulled on the reins of his horse when his eyes were treated to the scene in front of him. The horse did as he commanded with ease. Nobunaga gazed at the body that laid on the ground. The boy who'd attempted to escape had suffered a severe injury.
He was losing blood fast. A pool of red was immediately absorbed by the soil underneath the (h/c)-haired male's head. Nobunaga was quick to dismount. He showed no expression on his face as he hurried to the boy's side.
He rolled his eyes. Maybe he should have stopped him. . . He knelt down and cradled (M/n)'s bloodied head. He turned his harsh eyes to Hideyoshi.
"Ride ahead of me and inform the medic that they'll be tending to someone immediately." Nobunaga stated in an oddly calm voice. Hideyoshi nodded once he heard what his lord had to say.
With that, he turned his horse around and rode off. Nobunaga was not good with treating injuries but he did know a little bit about it. Clumsily, he pressed a cloth against (M/n)'s wound that he'd ripped off from his hakama.
