Kenshin's original glacial glare immediately softened when he took notice of this male's features and mannerisms. This person reminded him all-too-well of someone who he'd lost in his past. The name slipped past his lips before he could stop himself. He watched as the (h/c)ette's eyes widened.
"H-How do you know my name?. . ." He queried fearfully. Usually, Kenshin paid no mind to people's reactions when they met him, however, when this male showed fear, he felt his heart squeeze in his chest. Was this really his (M/n)?. . . But he was so sure that he'd been killed!
"This is taking way too long. I am sorry, Lord Kenshin, but if you have no business with us, we must be on our way." A girl stood at (M/n)'s side, clutching his hand tightly. In this moment, Kenshin wanted to rip the hand away. He barely managed to restrain himself. It was unusual for him to hold back, because usually this man just acted on impulse alone.
"Wait." He snapped before the girl and (M/n) could hurry off. "Do you remember me?. . ." Kenshin's voice had never sounded so vulnerable before. . . He had this gut feeling that this was his previous lover. (M/n) tilted his head and stared intently at Kenshin. After a moment or two, he broke eye contact and shook his head.
"If you mean if I remember meeting you before, then no. Apologies. . ." (M/n) began to fidget as he said this. "L-Like Chisana said, we have to get going. I hope you have a great day." Kenshin narrowed his eyes. He was not going to let this man leave him. Not again. He couldn't protect him before. He would not make the same mistake again. Why does he not remember me?. . . He reached out a hand, gripping onto the hilt of his sword.
He withdrew the weapon, and pointed its sharp tip at (M/n)'s throat. "You're going to come with me back to my castle, whether you like it or not. I know you're my beloved. I won't let you convince me otherwise!"
♔ (M/n)'s POV ♔
(M/n) tensed as he stared at the weapon that was pointed at him. For some reason, when he glanced over at Kenshin, the scene felt familiar. He grimaced, his head hurting. . . "Hey, there's no need to get violent here!" Chisana moved quickly so that she was in front of (M/n). The male was about to tell her to move away when Kenshin beat him to it.
"Move." The warlord's voice was filled with disdain. (M/n) didn't know what he'd do with himself if Chisana got harmed because of him.
"Hmm, Kenshin. . . Oops, I mean Lord Kenshin. May I ask you a quick question?" Chisana questioned without a hint of fear in her voice despite the fact that a weapon was currently being pointed in her direction. (M/n) stood a little bit taller, preparing himself for anything. Kenshin scowled.
"What? Make it quick." Kenshin hissed, continuing to threaten them with his weapon. Chisana cleared her throat.
"When did you meet (M/n)?" Kenshin quirked a brow. Though reluctant, he gave her an honest answer.
"Thirteen years ago. . . After we first met, he lived in my castle. We grew close and became inseparable. But then after living with me for three years, (M/n) was kidnapped and taken away, and I never heard from him again. . ." Chisana nodded her head thoughtfully, her hand still gripping tightly onto (M/n)'s hand. The (h/c)-haired male wondered where she was going with this.
"Well (M/n), didn't my father save you when you were being attacked by some fancy-looking men??" (M/n) sighed.
"Well, that's what he told me. I don't remember anything about it. All I do remember is waking up and seeing your father's worried face." (M/n) admitted. To be honest, he had been slightly curious about his past. So far, he hadn't remembered anything whatsoever. When he first came to, he was determined to try and find out about the life he lived before he was attacked. What kind of person he had been before the accident.
