Nobunaga sat upon his dais, staring down at the ninja he had sent to infiltrate Kenshin's castle. He had heard the rumours that the Dragon of Echigo was still alive. He was curious to know as to whether this was true. . .

Since there wasn't a war he had to deal with at the moment, Nobunaga's many reliable men weren't at his castle. But the majority were close-by if he needed them at his side.

"Speak." Nobunaga demanded, his coal-black eyes training themselves on the shinobi before him who'd just entered the room a few minutes ago. Banri gave a curt nod of his head before giving a full report to Nobunaga. As his loyal shinobi spoke, Nobunaga felt his lips curving upwards into a cold smile. Kenshin was alive. . . And he never thought that the dragon would be the kind of person to have this sort of relationship.

If he were honest, this type of relationship between two men intrigued him. Was it the same as bedding a woman?. . .

"Interesting. . . Take some of your men and kidnap this boy for me. He seems like the perfect bait. . ." Nobunaga chuckled softly. So. . . There was still some competition that was coming between him and his aim to unify Japan.

(M/n)'s POV

(M/n) let out a soft sigh as he eyed Chisana and Renko as they play-fought. He had his chin in his hand and a longing look in his eyes. He desired to fight ever since he moved in with Chisana's family. But Chisana's father was very soft on him and didn't want to push him because of his injury. Chisana learnt to fight by begging warriors in secret to show her how to defend herself. . . They ended up helping her since she showed potential, but (M/n), however, wasn't taught because those warriors knew of his past.

(M/n) loved watching people fight. It was awe-inspiring. Ever since the incident with those men, he was never thought of as strong. Everybody treated him like a weakling, which he hated with a passion. He was told by many in his village including those warriors training Chisana that he was too fragile to fight due to his injury. They were wrong, so wrong, but (M/n) never expressed those emotions since he knew that they were just concerned about him.

So, instead, he just took those words. He suffered in silence because he felt that since he was easily overthrown by those unknown men that he had no right to defend himself and demand that he be taught. He didn't realise that his left-hand was clenched tightly as he thought about the words of those many villagers. He was so immersed in the fighting and stuck in his thoughts that he didn't notice the God of War coming up behind him.

He tensed as hands clamped down on his shoulders and pair of warm lips pressed against the shell of his ear.

"What are you doing? I've been waiting for you in the food hall so we can eat." (M/n) instantly relaxed and pouted. He pulled away from Kenshin and lightly hit his shoulder. Kenshin chuckled gruffly and pulled (M/n) into his chest. (M/n)'s eyes returned to the girls fighting furiously and with determination. (M/n) slumped in the older male's arms.

"I just. . . Want to learn how to fight. I want to be able to defend myself, prove to others my worth. I am good enough to fight but nobody believes in me. Look at them. The both of them are years younger than me yet they fight like they're preparing for a war. Why can't I be taught? I want to have the equal amount of strength they have." (M/n) whispered. He winced as Kenshin's hold on him grew slightly tighter.

(M/n) jolted in surprise when Kenshin suddenly turned him in his arms and pinned him against the tree that he'd been peeking behind. (M/n) felt a small blush creep up onto his (s/c) skin as Kenshin cupped his cheek. Kenshin tilted his head, his miscoloured eyes flickering with shock and. . . Sadness.
