That night, Agnarr sat down on the edge of the bed. His chest still hurting him like it had that morning. It was so cold and nothing he did brought any relief to his body. Iduna came into the master bedroom after taking a shower and noticed Agnarr holding his chest. She quickly moved beside him and pressed her hand against his chest, it was ice cold. Her eyes became filled with concern as she looked at him. "Agnarr, this is getting worse. What should we do? We cannot just run to the trolls like we used to. The hospital will not know what to do with this."
Agnarr turned to her, thinking for a moment about their options. She was right, it was getting worse and there was no way they could get treatment from the trolls all the way in San Fransokyo. "Well, there are two options that I see at the moment. One is that we have Mr. Xavier come and see if any of his mutants can help or we, well we-" he stuttered for a moment, knowing that what he was about to say would upset her in some way. "We could try.. the Northuldra magic. The one that you sing about.. and that your ancient book talks about. Ive seen you do it..." Looking at her as he played with his hands. "I have seen you talk with nature.. Iduna. I know you try to do it in secret. But Ive noticed, though I was too afraid to speak with you about it."
Iduna nodded at his first suggestion, standing up to take the pins out of her hair when he mentioned the Northuldra magic. Dropping all the pins on the floor in shock before slowly moving down to pick them up. "I-I don't know what your talking about. My people have no real magic, we just sing about it because it is in our folk tales." Agnarr got down on the floor to help her pick up the pins she dropped before looking at her once more.
"I've seen you Iduna, please do not lie to me. I have seen you sing to nature and then it responds in one way or another. I've seen how animals always seem to appear whenever your talking in Northuldran. I may have a chronic chest problem, but I am not blind." Agnarr said as he reached for her hand. She sighed and took his hand into hers. Thinking to herself for awhile before speaking.
"My mother taught me how to speak to nature, the Northuldra have the ability to communicate effectively with animals and plants. We have a symbiotic relationship. Our ancestors were connected to the spirits of the Northern Lights in the same way that the trolls are. But our magic is sacred and only the Northuldra are supposed to know about it. That is why I haven't told you." Iduna said as she breathed a small sigh of relief. Looking back at him for a moment. "I cannot cure you Agnarr, I do not have the knowledge or strength in order to fix this. But I can provide relief for your chest ritht now." Speaking in Northulrran as she pressed her hand against his chest. A warm glow came around her hand as she closed her eyes. She was channeling the power of the sun on his frozen chest which quickly warmed it. Providing Agnarr with immense relief.
