Chapter 6
the Loving, the Lover, and the Unloved

the Loving

GABRIEL woke up through a quiet knock on his door. It seemed like whoever it is on the other side, it didn’t have the intention to wake people on the inside up though it is in fact so very early in the morning.

He took his phone from the table to check the time. He roughly had 10 minutes before his alarm will go off. He turned the alarm off and walked to the door.

“Are you still sleeping?” the quiet knock is now accompanied with a whisper. Recognizing the voice, he immediately swung the door open.

“Bella!”

The woman in a long skirt and tucked-in loose black shirt waved at him. Their smile somehow matched each other, almost identical.

“Long time no see, big brother.”

His smile grew wider than it could. He’s about to ask how she’s been but got distracted by her hair. Despite delighted upon seeing his only sister after a long time, he still can’t hide his distaste on Bella’s new hair color.

"But why is your hair pink? Your school don’t have No Hair Color Policy?”

“Hello? I’m a Fashion Design student. What policy?”

Laisa woke up hearing the commotion. She approached the two to join the conversation. “Hey there future fashion designer. To what do we this pleasure?”

“Sis! You’re here!”

The two fancy grown-up ladies hugged and kissed each other. They giggled as they compliment each other’s hair and clothes, the usual way they great each other. Gabriel grunted seeing the two and went inside first. He started preparing breakfast.

“The fashion show you’ll be guesting later is an inter-school competition, you’re aware of that right?” Laisa nodded. Both are slowly going inside the apartment. “Our team will be representing our college.”

“Really? I saw the designs last night and they were great!”

The two cozied themselves on the bed and continued chatting.

“Will you be judging later? I never thought the show will be big. But since you will be there.”

“What are you saying? I’m just there as our school’s alumni.” Laisa laughed. “And no, I won’t be judging. I will be just sitting there giving extra beauty for the crowd.”

“That’s sad. I thought I will automatically have a 10 on my score sheet.”

“Is that why you’re here?”

The two ladies laughed at their own jokes. Gabriel shut them off with the aromatic breakfast he just prepared. Together the three feast.

“Anyways, Laisa. How did you manage to maintain your figure with a good cook around?” Bella asked munching on her food. She ate faster and more than the usual totally ignoring her diet. “And this is why I don’t really want to live with you, my brother.”

“Just stay at the dorm. Its well cramped here.” Gabriel commented while Laisa who was busy eating finally replied after swallowing.

“Its really hard and tiring!” Laisa shook her head and took another spoonful. Gabriel chuckled, probably guilty making his friend suffer.
