“We are different. Too different for each other. But I don’t why I keep thinking they will affect me, somehow. I’m curious in what way, and if I will let my self.”
Chapter 2
the Dwarf, the Witch, and the Sorcererthe Dwarf
AFTER the tiring photo shoot (that includes an interview for the magazine) and a TV guesting shooting in the afternoon that ended at 11PM, Laisa went straight to Gabriel’s apartment through the company van her manager is driving. She left her car at Han-ag, and she will ask Gabriel to pick it up tomorrow since she plans to sleep her entire day off.
Almost dragging her feet up to the third floor, she threw herself at Gabriel’s door which is surprisingly open. She’s about to do the same on the bed but froze upon seeing a woman already lying there, and Gabriel on top of her. Laisa screamed.
“The hell Gabriel!”
Gabriel, who’s shocked too by the unexpected guest (who is not totally unexpected) fell off the floor. That gave Laisa a clear view of the woman sleeping soundly— skinny, with fair skin and a virgin hair that is now wet, and wearing Gabriel’s shirt with only panties underneath. “Did you just…”
“We did not, okay? You know I’m not interested on those things.”
“And that’s why you still can’t see me as a woman.” Laisa chose to say that on her head and uttered, “Then who is she?”
“I don’t know.” upon seeing his only friend getting annoyed, Gabriel continued. “I was on my way home and was about to cross the street when I saw her collapse. No one’s there aside from me and I don’t think I can leave her on the rain that’s why I brought her here. She’s all wet, I was changing her, and that’s what you saw.”
Laisa, who is totally blown away by what’s happening dragged the chair next to her and sat on it. “Then why is she only on her panties?”
“I saw her like that and she’s on her bikinis, not just panties. She was bathing on the rain.”
Laisa asked her last interrogating question. “Then why didn’t you call 911?”
“I just paid off my debt. I’m penniless.”
Though she wasn’t sure of what she was hearing plus she couldn’t find the energy to argue anymore, she took off her heels and sat on the bed. Gabriel, realizing he was on the floor all along got up and sat on the same chair Laisa just used.
“You don’t mind sharing the bed with her, right? And she’s still wet…”
Laisa, finally annoyed threw the object she got her hands on first at Gabriel. It was a book. “Just shut up and turn around. I’ll take care of this.”
Laisa got up again and opened the cabinet. She took out her own fresh clothes and underwear and changed the ‘woman-in-the-rain’ (she decided to call her that) with it. After finishing, she threw the wet clothes on the floor and laid next to the feverish woman.
“Gab,”
“You done?”
“Yeah. You can now turn around.”
Gabriel faced the bed’s direction after getting the permission. He then waited for what Laisa has to say.
“Did you expect me to be here tonight?”
“I was expecting every night. Especially when you have schedules.”
Laisa nodded crossing her arms. Her eyes are locked on the ceiling and on the cobwebs at the far end. “Then how did you expect me to react upon seeing a woman I-don’t-know-who on your bed?”
