We arrived home at 17:30 and went straight to the hospital to visit Caitlin but she wasn't in her room.
"Excuse me mam, do you know where my sister is?" Spencer asked the nurse.
"Oh they didn't tell you" she said cheerfully in a Jamaican voice.
"Tell us what?" I stepped in.
"She was discharged two days ago." The Jamaican woman said. I think a wave of relief swept over both Spencer and I.
"Thank you" Spencer said and took my hand to leave.
"Why do you think she was discharged?" I asked him on the walk to the car.
"I don't know. We'll find out when we get to my house." He said.
The car ride to Spencer's house was quite silent except for the soft sound of 'Mayday Parade's' song 'Save your Heart'. We pulled into the driveway and found both Mr and Mrs Lachowski's cars there. It wasn't such a surprise but because Mr Lachowski was a lawyer and Mrs Lachowski was a doctor they were always running on different schedules, you never expect to see both of their cars in the driveway at the same time.
We got out and walked to the front door. Spencer with his bag in one hand and my hand in his other. We rang the doorbell and Caitlin answered.
At first her face was bright and smiling then she looked down at our joined hands.
"Um what's going on?" She asked. She now had an oxygen tank on her left that was connected to her nose. Spencer shrugged his shoulders at the question but let go of my hand then wrapped his arms around Caitlin. When he released her
"Caitlin!" I shrieked and hugged her too. She looked at me unsurely, still confused with the hand holding situation but then went back to her normal self and hugged me back. Spencer had already gone inside to his parents when we finally let go.
"So how was the wedding?" Caitlin asked when we were walking into the living room where her parents sat.
"It was good" I responded sneaking a glance at Spencer who was already looking at me.
"And the company?" She asked smirking at me.
"It was.." I paused. "It was okay, I guess" I looked up to see Spencer wink at me. I think their mom might have caught that because she stepped in.
"How about you Spencer?" she asked raising an eyebrow.
"It was good." He answered keeping his eyes on me.
"Great." She said not knowing how to respond.
"Well we're having Pizza for supper, you're welcome to stay Jenna." Mr Lachowski said to me.
"Sure, thanks" Caitlin's eyes were trained on me, eyeing me sceptically. She showed me with her eyes to follow her.
"We'll be right back" she said to no one in particular.
When we got to her room she shut the door behind us and placed her hand on her hip. "Jen, what the hell is going on between you and Spencer?" She said trying to act angry. "Nothing" I denied. "Jen, we've been best friends since we came out of the womb. You know it is impossible to lie to me. Just tell me?" She explained.
"It's just" I began. "I knew it!" She shouted a little too loudly. "What? Knew what?" I questioned. "I knew you guys liked each other." She told me. "Since when?" I asked. "Always. I think it was just.. as if it was written in the stars. I don't know why I'm so excited I mean especially since he's my brother and you're my best friend, I should be totally disgusted. Maybe I like the feeling of being right more than you guys being together." She was talking quite excessively.

Teen FictionMany people think that when you meet the person you're meant to be with, sirens go off; bells start ringing and all you see are rainbows. Most of the time that isn't the case. I won't give away too much, but all I'm saying, is that when it happened...
