CHAPTER THIRTY ONE: REUNION

LEVI'S

"Captain! You're a bit too far from the formation!" I heard Petra informing me as we push forward to Reiss Chapel.

Honestly, right now, I couldnt care less of the formation.

Damn how could I think straight knowing Adelaide is in danger.

"Levi! What did I tell you about your feelings? Do you want something like what happened to Farlan and Isabel happen again?" I grunted.

"No. I wont let that happen again. Damn." I hissed, making my horse run a bit faster.

"Captain! Just stick with the God damn formation. This is for Lady Adelaide so stop being impatient. Remember what you would always tell us." Eld said. I sighed and calmed down a bit.

"Scouts and Garrisons! Our main objective is to retrive Eren, Historia and Lady Adelaide. Only attack when needed. Focus on saving the three. Do not engage if not needed. Understood!?" Erwin yelled.

"Understood!"

"Eren is vital for the reclaimation of Wall Maria. Adelaide is our key to know more of the history of Titans. She and Historia are the true heir to the throne. We should not fail to save them!" That struck me suddenly.

Knowing that Adelaide is the descendant of Maria, Ymir's eldest while Historia is the bloodline of Sheena, the youngest, Adelaide will most likely will be the next ruler. Making her the queen.

I suddenly felt small, embarrassed and disgraced.

She is a queen, while I am? Im only a soldier who came from the undergrounds. Damn I even earned my citizenship here from dirty deeds.

Im no good for her. I will never be.

A queen deserves a king that is clean and merciful. Not someone as cold, merciless and tainted as me.

"Levi!" I heard Erwin called me.

"Keep it together. And yes that's an order." 

"I could never be enough to deserve her. I juat realized that now. Damn." I said. Erwin looked at me.

"Everyone does not deserve someone. It's just a matter of how to look decent and enough for that person." He said.

"We all have flaws and scars of our past but, dont let that define who you are in the present. Only be reminded of how you changed and become that person you are of today." My mout parted for a bit.

He's right. Erwin is right. I cant let that affect me.

"So what if she will be queen? A queen can rule without a king but not without a soldier to protect her." I just looked straight ahead but on the inside, that struck a realization in me.

Well then. I will be that soldier.

"I can see the chapel now!" Moblit said. Before we reached its gates, a group of Anti-Personel Squad appeared, with of course the guns they have.

"They have guns shit!" Hange hissed.

"They need two seconds to reload after two shots. Use that weakness. Enclose the gap and go for the kill." I said as I rode my horse faster. I killed four in a row.

"The coast is clear! Let's enter now."

"There are still more of them inside for sure. And by the looks of it, they are equiped and armored. So be careful." Erwin said.

"Now!" We all went and crashed every enemy that gets in our way.

"Levi! You and your squad go inside the cavern! We will hold back every threat here." I nodded to Erwin and had my squad follow me for orders.
