ADELAIDE'S
As I looked beyond the glass window, I saw how Levi rode his horse towards leaving the headquarters. As he was leaving, I felt something heavy in my heart. I sighed.
Maybe we'll just have to postpone our getting to know process until he comes back.
"Milady, do you want to eat?" I heard someone behind me asked. I tried looking but I couldnt reach so he went beside me.
"Im fine. Thank you for asking." I answered. He may not smile but he looked jolly.
His golden blonde hair complemented his bluish eyes.
"I-Im Reiner. Reiner Braun." He said. I smiled.
"Nice meeting you, Reiner. I hope it's alright with you to be called by your first name." I said. He smiled suddenly.
"Not problem at all."
He offered to walk me along the corridors of this castle. It was much like our house but this was a bit old and vintage.
"So you're saying you're only sixteen?" I chuckled and nodded.
"Do I look that old for you to have a hard time believing." I was still laughing.
"It's just that, you're as beautiful as grown lady. Plus you're tall for a sixteen year old." He said. Mg cheeks turned to red.
"I only stand a hundred and sixty centimeters though." I tried cracking a joke. He didnt laugh but he smiled though.
"How about you?" I'd ask. By his looks I could say he's about seventeen-mid twenties kind of guy. Well not that I am an expert on men but my father is a general, maybe I inherited some of his characteristic-reading skills.
"I joined the scouts so I could go home." He said. I was kind of baffled because I was confused. He looked at me.
"Once everything's over. The Titans cleared out, I can go back to my hometown." He added.
"You and the captain seemed close." He spoke. I gasped and shrugged my shock.
Were we really that obvious?
"He's nice. My father tasked him to escort me so, maybe that's why we're always seen together." I tried reasoning. Reiner seemed satisfied with my answer though.
"The Captain is not really the sociable one. For an interaction with a non-scout personel, you're a first to be with Levi." He said. I was amused.
Is he really that anti-social? It feels like he doesnt. He just appear as a serious person.
"Well, if you have noticed, the captain only spends his time with either the commander and hange or his squad and the 104th cadet corps." I nodded.
"So, Milady, I hope we could still talk like this. It's kind of refreshing to see and talk to you." He said. I smiled.
"Of course! I would be glad. Besides, I think I'll be dying out of boredom." He laughed.
" The 104th will have dinner together, and since the captain left you on our disposal, it will be nice to have you." He said. I smiled and nodded.
"Sure. Thank you, Reiner." I said. He looked a little weird now. Is it just me or his face turned red?
"A-Are you alright? You're sweating! Are you having a some sort of allergic reaction or what?" I asked worriedly. He immediately shrugged off.
"Im fine. It's just a natural instinct." I was confused.
"Huh? Natural instinct?"
"An instinct w-whenever I feel s-something." He tells.
"Are you sure?" He nodded and I felt relieved.
It's been five days since Levi was out. I couldnt help but miss his presence. Luckily, me and Armin got along with our brainstorming sessions everyday. Plus, I could stand up and walk not.
Reiner always kept me busy. He would always take me to the garden and bring books so I could read while spending time there. Also, Sasha would always bring snacks. Jean would always tell jokes the me and Connie would laugh at.
"Your wound seemed healed already. Didnt expected it to be this quick since it was in your stomach but good enough you're better now." Mikasa said while patching a new gauze pad on my abdomen. I smiled.
"Thank you." I smiled. Among everyone, she's the only one who treats me like a normal person and not somehow a daughter of an important person.
"Dont mention it. Anyways get dressed. I heard the Captain's arriving today." she said. I suddenly felt an adrenaline rush on my veins.
I get to see Levi again!
I immediately wore back my dress and followed Mikasa out of my room.
We arrived at the lunch hall. Since the only vacant seat left was a spot beside Eren and one next to Reiner, Mikasa sat beside Eren and Armin while I sat beside Reiner.
"How's the wound? I got you your favorite soup and a piece of pie, I hope you dont mind." He said. i smiled.
"Thank you. You didnt have to though, it wound be a bothersome. My wound's healed." I said.
"Not a problem. Good to know that you're fine now. About time so I could take you to horseback riding." I felt excited. I always wanted to learn how to ride a horse but Dad would always protest, telling me it's dangerous.
"She's riding with me later, Braun."
I wasnt able to sip on my soup the moment I heard that cold and deep yet attractive voice behind me.
I saw how everyone was looking to the person who's standing at the back of my seat, I suddenly felt something shivering down my spinals. I gasped and looked back after realizing who was the owner of that voice.
"C-Captain Levi!" Eren along with the others paid their salute but his eyes were still darted on to me. I never felt this some sort of tension.
"My messenger brought me the mews that Lady Adelaide is already healed. So I ditched the the agenda to go back." I was at awe.
He came back for me?
"Thank you for keeping an eye on her. Your diligence and focus will be mentioned to the general." He added.
"C-Captain-" I was about to say something when he didnt let me finish talking.
"You seemed like you saw a ghost, Reiner. Mind sharing your thoughts?" He asked. I wasnt able to look at anybody else except this man in front of me.
"Nothing at all Captain." Reiner answered shortly.
"Hmm. I see. Milady, would you mind coming with me? I have something urgent to discuss with you. I'll be expecting you at my office" He said and then fled off. After he went out, I breathed in and out first before excusing myself and heading to his office.
What was he gonna tell me? I felt something like nervousness.
Minutes later, I reached his office.
i knocked before going in. I couldnt see him anywhere even in his seat and desk.
I went closer to the room and then a pair of arms snaked around my waist endulging me in an embrace. With that sandalwood fragrance, I knew who this was.
"Damn.I missed you." I heard him murmurimg against his face burried on the side of my neck.
Like an instinct, I encircled my arms on his nape and hugged him tighter.
"I missed you too, Levi." I answered. I felt his lips moved against my skin, assuming he formed a smile.
"Im sorry if I scared you a little earlier. I just hate seeing you smiling for other men.Dont ask me why, I dont know either." He said. I smiled and hugged him even tighter.
And that moment, it was the most comfortable position I could ever get into.
