CHAPTER FIFTY-TWO: HELP

ADELAIDE'S

"I can walk without being grabbed in the arm, Lenos." I hissed at Levi. He was still grabbing me in the arm while we walk in the hallways of this building. If was not mistaken, he said it was the Marleyan Mitary Force Headquarters.

"Just making sure, princess." He even winked at me. I just grunted and followed him inside this room. More like a conference hall.

It's already been a week since I was detained in Levi's care. Within that week, my life was calm. Well except with the everyday quarel with this man.

My brother regularly visits me everytime and Eren would always link in me. Told me how bad Reiner wanted to talk but I asked Eren to always tell him to trust me.

"We're here." Levi caught my attention as he opens the door hall and there I saw a huge longe conference table filled with Marleyan Military Higher Ups that werent killed in the Liberio seige.

"Finally you arrived." Commander Magath said. Levi-Lenos as addressed here bid his salute. While I just looked in each and every one of them.

Inside the hall were also the Marleyan Warrior Unit. Zeke looked to me and smiled in his most mocking way. I also saw my brother.

Levi sat in the empty chair next to Porco and he placed me where I can sit next to Aiden.

"since everyone is here already, Here is the final roll up of the plan as we attack in the southern Port of Marley which was colonized by the enemy country." Commander Magath started discussing about the plan. He also mentioned about this Anti-Titan Shell which was kind of different from the ones used in the fight in Port Slava.

"Aside from damaging titans, these anti titan shells of theirs can also weakened and hallucinate titan shifters, making them not only knocked out from their titan forms but also make them unconcious." He explaianed. As I quickly assessed the information, this country might have bought iceburst stones from the Azumabitos that were quarried in Paradis.

"This is where we will be demanding your cooperation, Princess Adelaide." I was shocked to hear my name and whats more of it is that they want my help.

I looked at him with seriousness.

"For a country who took everything from me, why should I waste my effort to help?" I sarcastically asked. The others were stunned while Le-Lenos tried calming me down by tapping or hissing my name.

"This is to make ammends for the devastation your country have caused during that night in Liberio-"

"That wont be enough to compensate with what your boy wonder did to me." I can see curiosity in Levi's eyes but still I wont break the oath I sworn on the path to not meddle with its timing.

"Adelaide, this has nothing to do with what happened years ago-"

"Maybe to you it doesnt have." I paused to breathe in. Zeke remained listening.

"How about we negotiate" I looked at Magath.

"As of today, a hundred battleships are ready to sail heading paradis containg five hundred soldiers per ship." My eyes widened in fear.

"If you will agree with our plan and assure us your cooperation, I can withdraw every ship heading to that island. If you wish to push with your defiance, I dont have any other choice but resort to let them crush your petty land." Checkmate. That was a smart move from him.

Or maybe it was Zeke's

"Adelaide...It's for your own good too." I heard Levi telling me in a low voice. I sighed and spoke.

"Lets get this over with." Zeke looked victorious.

"Im sorry." Aiden whispered lowly. I just sighed.

"You will be teaming up with Vice Chief Fritz here to take down one of the major towers in the port. Also your goal is to destroy as many anti titan shell units as possible." Zele said. like I care.

"Commander. What if the princess will suddenly lose her conciousness in the field of battle?" I heard Porco asked. Levi spoke just right after him.

"You wont have to worry about that. I will take responsibility of the princess." Levi said. I cant help but look at him but he remained in eye contact with Porco.

"About that, Im sure Lenos can handle that. Besides, the princess looks like she grown comfortable with the vice chief-"

"Your opinion is highly disregarded and useless Zeke. No wonder the looks of your titan form suits you very well." I smirked. He looked pissed.

"Why you-"

"Thats enough Zeke. Adelaide, we appreciate your cooperation. Rest assured we will be providing you everything that will be needed." I just nodded at Commander Magath.

I hate how I will be helping the race I despised the most.

After the meeting, Lenos and I went back to the baracks and let me rest. Good thing he was busy making paper works. As I look at him writing in his desk, a nostalgic feeling embraced my being.

This was our life before. In the night, I will be waiting for him to finish his work before I go to sleep hugging him.

Out of the blue, I smiled, at first because of that happy thought then followed by longingness.

"Hey...." I was pushed out of my reverie when I heard Levi spoke.

"About you cooperating earlier. Thank you for that." He said without looking at me.

"It was not for this country. I just did what I have to do for Paradis' sake. I badly want him to remember things now.

"Im well aware. Wont you mind if I ask something?" He said. I got curious.

"Go on"

"About what Zeke said. About what happened years ago...Did he killed someone important to you?" I was stunned and wasnt able to move or say anything in an instant.

I guess he is still the same keen observant man I knew.

"You dont have to answer. Im sorry for asking-"

"H-He took someone from me." He looked at me.

"I dont know how but I want that someone back so bad." I went to the bed and turning my back in front of him to hide my tears.

"Aiden wants to return to Paradis too. He's just waiting for the eldians there to attack so he can infiltrate." My eyes widened.

He thought it was my brother I was talking about.

I need to think fast and come up with a plan on how can I bring his memories back so if that happens, I'll be able to bring him back and give my son his biological father he always wished for.

I cant wait to tell him everything about Leviathan.

Speaking about that, I suddenly missed my son.

Dont worry sweetie. A little more sacrifice and I will be able to bring your dad home.

I will bring him back no matter what will happen and no matter how much it will take away from me.

I just want to feel his presence that I longed for so many years now.

I will get you back Levi.
