Mr. Lee's POV

An anonymous call has been bugging me since 3am yesterday. I am not used to answering calls who are not registered on my phone. I am here in my office when I heard a knock on my steel door.

"Come in" I said. I saw one of my agents enter the room.

"A letter has arrived addressed to you Mr. Lee, from the Palace" From the palace? Did something happened? they don't usually send me letters.

"Okay" I simply said. I received a black velvet envelop with a wax seal stamp with the emblem of the palace.

I opened the letter.

Mr. Lee,

It has been a while since I made a connection with you, I recently found out that my daughter had a child before the fire happened. I know you two have been in touch before she passed away. I hope you can tell me where to find my granddaughter. A successor is needed for the throne. I'm looking forward to hear from you.

-Queen.

From the Queen.

Flashback

"Calvin, they're here" I heard her at the end of the line.

Shit.

"can you get to safety? my men are on their way" I said as I rush to their house.

"This has to end cal, I'm tired of running from them, just promise me to be there for her. Raise her well and don't let her get in touch with someone else but you. Hide her from them, give her a normal life. I transferred all my funds to her, please, look out for her, treat her as your own" I hear Emelia's voice breaking. Then I heard a loud explosion.

No!

I pressed the gas pedal hard and hurried but I was too late. I saw little Emelia crying screaming for her mother's name. I went close to her.

She hugged me and sobbed. "mommy and daddy left me" those broke my heart.

end of flashback

I promised my best friend to look after her daughter and that day, I trained her to be the best and she did. Lisa.

I know Lisa's parents, relatives and yes she's a royalty. I hid her because her mom stepped down from the throne to give her child a good future away from everything. She never appreciated being a royalty, and she doesn't want her daughter to experience what she experienced before.

I kept Lisa from them to fulfil the promise I made with my best friend. I kept Lisa to give her the life my best friend wished her to have.

But I am terrified that one day she'll find her. This is why since that incident I never accepted any task from the palace. But I know I need to tell her sooner.

Lisa's POV

I'm currently here inside the restaurant, a table away from Jennie Kim who's currently having her meeting with a client. I enjoyed the good food. They were wrapping up the meeting and I am done with the food. As soon as Jennie stood up, I followed her. We hopped back to the car.

"How's your leg?" She asked as she place the seat belt on.

"They're hanging in there" I said, although I still flinch because of tiny pain.

We drove off. She wanted to take a break since this week has been filled with meetings. Since it's still early, I decided to take her to her favorite ice cream parlor.
