Chapter 18

Jennie's POV

I felt the sunlight hitting my eyes. who opened the stupid curtains? I was about to move to the other side of the bed when I feel a body beside me. my eyes widened, who could this be?

"Wake up sleepy head" the voice made my heart beat fast. why is she here?

"Why are you here?" I asked.

"I've been trying to wake you up, it's already 9am, you have a meeting at 10am remember? you're running late your highness" She said. I immediately stood up and rushed to the bathroom. I took a quick cold shower to wake me up. I wore a simple corporate attire to look pleasant for the board meeting.

I went back to my bed and saw Lisa holding a bag from my favorite resturant. 

"I got you breakfast already, eat on the road, we have to go" She said and grabbed me. 

I finished my sandwich and drank the water she gave me. we arrived at the office with 15 minutes to spare. she sat down on the couch while I on my chair preparing for the board meeting. 

"are you nervous?" She asked while she stares at her phone.

"A bit" I said. I've never attended an emergency meeting, usually, daddy do them for me. 

I saw her beside me. how did she get here?

She's on her knees as she turned my chair and now I am facing her. 

"Don't be, I know you can do it. after the meeting I'll take you out for Ice cream" She said. she held my hand and suddenly all my fears were gone, but what shook me the most was when I leaned close to give her a quick kiss. 

our eyes both widened with what I did but, she pulled me back for another long kiss.

"You can do it" She said and smiled. I walked towards the conference room while she's beside the door looking out for me. 

The meeting lasted for about an hour and it was really exhausting. they were discussing about the issue of the new product being released by a branch outside the country who didn't have the authority to release such product since it was not approved by the board. I had them pulled out immediately and placed their production on hold for a month. 

I went out of the conference looking exhausted. Lisa then grabbed me.

"Where are we going?" I asked.

"I promised you Ice cream right?" She said. I nodded and followed her.

We went back to the same spot yesterday, although it's not yet night but the view is satisfying. we sat on the same spot and enjoyed a good meal and a bucket of ice cream together. Lisa prepared this mini picnic for us. 

After that short meal, we proceeded to the ice cream. "Tell me more about yourself" I asked out of the blue.

"Is this the continuation of our talk?" She asked laughing, I glared at her.

"Fine, what do you want to know?" She asked as she took a spoonful of ice cream.

"What do you love?" I asked. I was about to take a spoon of ice cream when I heard her whisper.

Tho I am not sure, I might be just hearing things. "Come again?" I asked.

"Well, I enjoy eating ice cream" She said, she chuckled as she took the ice cream to her mouth.

"What else" I said. I waited for her response.

"Hmm. I enjoy cooking, I always love outdoor stuff, I love to travel, I also love adventures and trying things I haven't tried" She said. She's such an adventurous type of person. I nodded to her response.
