Chapter 43.

Damien's POV.

I can't believe she has an ugly boyfriend. Poor Charlotte thought I would be jealous of this man. 

"I also do what my mother used to do." I answered and he nod his head. "So what is it that your mother used to do?" 

"Mom used to help people." He smiled. "I am sure your mother does that too."

"My mom passed away when I was eleven but she was kind so she probably used to help people." This asshole thinks I am opening up to him. "So where's your dad?"

"He is out of the country. Yours?" So this asshole has a father. I wouldn't mind meeting him.

"Mine was murdered a couple of years ago." I replied and tears started forming in his eyes. "Don't feel sorry for him, he kinda deserved it, after all, he killed my mom." 

"Don't say that. I am sure he never did that. No man would kill the mother of his child, that's not human." 

"Don't talk about my parents as if you've known them. Just because you are Charlotte's boyfriend doesn't mean I am related to you." I told him. "Now tell me what does your father do?"

"Dad is a businessman like Charlotte's father." He quickly turned to Charlotte who was burning. "Are you okay Charlotte?"

"I'm good, carry on." She faked a smile. "Ask Damien about what the weather will be for tomorrow?"

"Is Damien the weather guy?" Aiden asked and I giggled.

"I'm done with this." She quickly ran away.

"I will go talk to Charlotte." Aiden got up but I stopped him. 

"She will be fine so please sit." I feel like vomiting. I can't believe I have to pretend to be nice in front of this ugly guy. "When is your father coming back from wherever he is right now."

"Umm, well the thing is my dad doesn't live here so he won't come here." He answered. 

"Is he your only family?" I should tell Diego to stop the investigation he should do on this man. This fool is telling me everything I need to know about him.

"Yeah but I have so many other people I consider family." Aiden replied. "But you don't know them so don't ask me about them." His phone started ringing so he answered it. "Yeah, I made it to New York." Come on Aiden, just put your phone on loudspeaker so I can hear everything clearly. "Mom, I am really fine. I am about to have dinner with my girlfriend." This man has been playing me. He just told me his mother died and now he is talking to her. I can't trust his answers anymore, I will have to ask Diego to speed up the investigation.  "Mom, I also made a new friend."  Why the fuck is he acting like a three-year-old? 

"Can I talk to her?" I asked Aiden and his face turned serious. 

"I have to go, kiss Lee for me. Bye." He disconnected the phone. "Mom is a bit busy, maybe I will ask her to talk to you next time."

"You can just give me her number and I will--."

"No." He got up. "It was nice talking to you Mr. Knight. Goodnight." He walked out of the dining room. 

He got serious because of his mom. She must be his weakness that is why he lied about her. And who is Lee? I need to find more about this guy very soon.

I took my phone out and send Diego a message.

Me: I need you to find out more about Charlotte's boyfriend.

Diego: You already told me that. 

Me: Well, you didn't give me information about him yet.
