Chapter 19: Friday the 13th (Haunted House)

Today is just a normal day. No cases to solve since this isn't a fictional story like the others that almost everyday, there's a case that needs to be solved. Though I kinda like that.

Tumigil na muna kami sa pag-iimbestiga tungkol sa L organization dahil wala kaming lead. Ang tanging alam pa lang namin ang dalawang miyembro ng organisasyon -- may their souls rest in peace -- at ang pangalan ng organisasyon.

Light Organization. Ang huling mga salita ni sir Leonardo bago ang kanyang huling hininga. We were all thankful to him because of the information about the name. Though I didn't understand why they chose "light" as the name.

During the last meeting together with the Student Council, I have noticed that the cousins, Cali and Victor, we're not in good terms. I guess the hatred was formed when Cali's mom amd Victor's aunt died. Well, I don't want to dig up some more painful memories from him.

Today is November 13, friday. In short, its Friday the 13th!

I'm not afraid of it anyways kahit na yung iba ay takot na takot dito. I don't quite understand them! Alam kong may history ang Friday the 13th. Alam kong malas ang araw na ito but still, I don't get why some of the people are so afraid of it.

Hindi naman magiging malas ang araw mo kung nag-iingat ka 'di ba? Clumsiness lang 'yan, eh. But yeah, I know not all people shares the same view as mine.

"Punta tayo sa haunted house mamaya, please?" Eudayme asked before munching on his ordered lunch. "Enjoy-in naman natin itong Friday the 13th. Malay mo, may magparamdam sa atin doon. Tsaka halloween naman ah?"

"No." Cali replied to the eating Eudayme. He is seated across the latter while only sipping on his canned coffee. "How many times do I have to tell you that that house was just abandoned? Not a single ghost lives there since their existence only exist from your imagination."

We are seated in a table here inside the cafeteria. Wala si Adrianna ngayon dahil may sakit. I wasn't actually planning on going in here until Eudayme suddenly went inside my classroom and dragged me here.

Cali was also dragged by Eudayme before me. He pleaded to have lunch time with us. I was fine with it but Cali, he was annoyed and refused at first but he wasn't heard. In the end, he didn't have a choice but to eat lunch together with his rival and me.

Si Eudayme lang ang nag-order ng meal habang si Cali naman ay canned coffee lang at sa akin ay iced coffee. Tinanong ako ni Eudayme kanina kung bakit hindi ako nag-order ng kanin, ang sabi ko naman ay busog pa ako dahil kumain naman ako nung break time.

Right now, nagsuggest si Eudayme na pumunta kami sa isang haunted house pero hindi sumasang-ayon si Cali. Kanina pa nagpupumilit si Eudayme, kanina pa din siya tinu-turn down ni Cali, kasi daw wala namang nakakatakot doon. Kasi daw magsasayang lang kami ng oras at marami pang iba.

"Minsan lang naman 'to ah, ay teka! Never pa tayong pumunta sa haunted house!" He exclaimed then straightened his spoon and fork at the center of his plate. He has good manners.

"I'm not interested." Cali said, putting down his can and casting a glance to every person inside the cafeteria.

"Ang boring mo naman." Eudayme said, casting a side ward glance at me. "You're making my dear Felicine sad because of you turning down several times my request of going to the haunted house."

Bakit nadamay ako sa usapan? I was neither sad nor happy about him turning down his request. Eh hindi ko nga alam kung anong haunted house ba ang sinasabi niya.

"Ba't nadamay ako diyan?"

"Oh come on, Felicine! Are you saying that you are on his side?" Pagmamaktol ni Eudayme at tsaka turo sa lalaking kaharap niya. Hindi naman ito pinansin ni Cali at pinagpatuloy lamang ang pag-inom sa kanyang kape.
