11 A.B.Y.

"VADA?" A VOICE YELLED loudly, "Vada, where are you?" The woman held her hands to her heart as she panted, where could the little girl have gone?

She ran through the halls of the castle, searching every room and every corner for the tiny blonde. As she passed the library for the second time, she heard quiet giggles. She stopped in front of the door and sighed heavily.

A smile formed on her spotless face as she opened the door and then closed it behind her again. "Oh Vada...wherever could you be?"

But she was fairly certain where the little one was hiding, and her suspicions were confirmed when she heard muffled giggles again as she approached the large chest in a far end corner of the room.

With a broad smile, she opened the chest, and in it was the little blonde with the same eyes as her.

"Mama!" the little girl said cheerfully and she held her hands out to her mother, who pulled her out of the chest and sat her onto the floor.

She then crouched down in front of her. "My sun...what were you doing in here? I was so worried."

Little Vada smiled innocently, "Alon said he wanted to play hide and seek." Then she pouted, "but he hasn't come."

Queen Kya grinned. "Your hiding place was just too smart for your brother to find, my sun." Then she noticed something in her daughter's tiny hands. "What do you have there?"

Vada looked up at her mother with those big blue eyes she loved seeing so much. "Nothing, Mama."

Kya gave her daughter a stern frown, "Vada," she warned.

The five-year old sighed, and opened her hands. Kya's eyes widened and her mouth fell agape as her daughter didn't actually hold the silver pendant in her hands, it was floating steadily just above them.

Worry crossed the Queen's face, and her happy expression fell. Vada, smart as she was, noticed. "What's wrong Mama?"

Kya tried to hide her worry with a smile, but if it weren't for the fact that she was speaking to a child, anyone would have noticed how fake if was. She picked Vada up quickly. "Nothing to worry about my dear, let's go see your father."

All Vada heard from outside the room of her parents were muffled voices, through the cracks of the door she saw her mother and father talking to each other, then her mother was crying. Before she could peek any more, her older brother Alon called out to her from across the hall. "Are you eavesdropping Vada?" he yelled loud enough for their parents to be alarmed.
