Mathews pov-

Did I do something wrong I was just joking with him why did he get so flustered it's not like it's a bad thing to read girly books. I walked back and forth in my chamber as thoughts and feelings of confusion filled my head like a flood so much so I did not notice
Ed waiting by the door.

Ed-"my lord if I may inturupt but what are you doing here?"

Mathew-"oh sorry Ed I was spacing I needed some space before the Ball"

Ed-"well where's hallow he also was to attend it where is he?"

Mathew-"he is in his room he said he doesn't want to come now but will come later when necessary"

Ed-"my lord the Ball has already started we must go and appear before the madens instead of worrying about some petty servant ok"

His words made me feel something, something I've never felt with Ed his words never caused me to feel anger but they did hallow was my friend and even tho I haven't known him long I and that he probably doesn't like me at all other than friends it's ok.

Ed-"my lord what is wrong you look flustered I am sorry for raising my voice"

Just friends Ed kept on asking me if I was ok but the same thing kept annoying me.

His words stopped as his face looked  from calm and firm to horrified.

Ed- "my lord tell me I am wrong you can't be serious?"

Mathew-"I think I am tho"

*Slap!!*

My face throbed from the sudden force of Ed's hand as it collided with my skin. His face now angered and annoy looked at me like trash.

Ed-"YOU IDIOT!! Do you realize what could happen if you went through with this the royal line would be ruined I know your my king but you are also my friend and I do not want you ruining this kingdom when it's already on the break of war"

Mathew-"Ed will it tho I like him and I care about him so why would that matter?"

Ed-"because unlike you he is not human nor royalty which would make him a target for the kingdom the people would see it as a sign of anarchy and really would ruin you and your throne so please don't"

Mathew-"let me ask why do you care so much?"

Ed-"like I said for the..."

Mathew-" Ed you know what I mean why do you really care?"

My anger now at its peak as I waited for Ed to speak.

Ed-" because hallow would be the center of it and him already being a highly rare beastman will make it hard to be discreet but also he's a man and there's never been a same sex royal in the family line and..."

Mathew-"get out now I will be down in a sec but understand this if you ever bring this up to hallow or me again I will dismiss you permanently"

Ed-"yes my lord"

As he left I saw the frustrated look on his face as the door shut, a large sigh emptied my mouth as I comed back my crimson hair.

"What I am I going to do?"

As the ball started the movement of skirts flew and fluttered as partners waltz around the large ballroom as newcomers came lightly down the stairs elegantly the the sound of chartering crowds awaiting the king and all his magnificents

"I heard he is seriously handsome"

"I heard he is the strongest king in all the 12 realms"

"Well I heard he has a foxman from what heard there extinct"

"What!?"

As the chartering of people kept going until the music stopped and the large royal doors to the ballroom opened, all heads turned and went silent as the king himself with is butler Ed came walking in. Gasps could be heard among many of the maddens as his aura let off a royal presence unlike any other had, his clothes showed that of a emperor in the sense that they glowed of gold and red ad fit him like a glove.

He walked down the turned staircase as conversations began again again  and the music continued it's original tune.

"Wow he is so handsome"

"Why is he throwing a ball he could get anyone why throw one?"

"Where's his main servant the foxman I've heard so much about?"

As conversations continued the king sat there unable to be irritated from lowley nobles as his thoughts swirled in his head

"My king may I ask for a dance"

As Mathew looked up he saw the young madden from earlier one of the first to come today and I'd say one of the best dressed her dress frilled with purple and lilac colors as her neck bared a beautiful diamond necklace and her hair match perfect as her golden locks fell gracefully from her pins.

Mathew-"oh i am sorry um yes you may but isn't it the king who ask first tho"

"If you like you may ask me but it would be rude to turn down my offer "

As he grabbed her and he lead her gracefully to the floor as he begun to dance with her in a elegant walt's the two being both royal moved with such grace and beauty all stopped and watched as tho time stopped for all of the guest.

"Wow you dance pretty good for a king"

Mathew-"I should be but what about you Miss tappy feet"

"Noble family of course"

Mathew-"I haven't danced like this in ages"

" How come?"

Before Mathew could answer the tune stopped leaving them to part ways until he heard a loud crowd laughing near the food area.

"Get away from me!"

" How come you aren't flirting all rank 1 beast do come on"

"Please sir I need to get back to my lord"

As Mathew pushed through the crowd he could see a large noble man grabbing Hallow from the collar and shanking him hard causing hallow to gasped for air.

Mathew-"good sir please put my servant down he is very special to me"

"Why should I..."

The large man turned to look at Mathew to see Mathew seithing with anger and his hand on the hilt of his sword.

"My ...lord I am so sorry"

He in the same instance dropped hallow hard to the ground causing hallow to breath heavely as if he had never brethed before in his life.

Mathew-"please if you may good sir leave and never come back"

"It's not my fault tho my lord he was flirting with me and"

As he finished not even a second passed and the king's sword flew to his throat causing everyone to look in curiosity as a fight was bound to break.

Hallow-*cough cough* "it's fine ok it was my fault just let him leave ok"

Mathew-"how can you say that this man practicly harassed you"

Hallow-"I am sure ok I am a grown man my lord let him go!"

The sudden raise and in hallows voice caused Mathew lower his sword and letting the nobleman leave.

Ed-"my lord we must go back to are seats it's ok let's just ignore this little miss hab ok"

Mathew-"ya whatever you say Hallow enjoy the party but come back ok"

Hallow-"yes my lord I will"

As Mathew walked away disappointment filled him as tho Ed was right how stupid am I.
