Chp 4 Part 2

Hallows pov-

pain was all I felt as I awoke my body was stiff and sore and my stomach felt like a pierced balloon. As I tried to move or even open my eyes it seemed utterly impossible as I remained laying in the make shift bed but as I layed there I thought of what had happened and everything and relief filled me as I realized the baby and king were safe. as i gave up the soft sound of rain tapped ever so softly on the top of the tent and the soft sound of muffled footprints getting closer to the tent entrance.

"why isn't he waking up you said it would be any day now?!"

"My king he has gone through a lot i am surprised he was able to stay awake through any of the surgery and still be able to talk people usually would pass out from the pain give it time"

as one footsteps left heavier ones grew closes which i assumed by the healers conversation was the king. As he got closer his body sat near me and i could smell the strong scent of mud and rain on him.

Mathew-"Hey i am back again sorry i would come by more often but with us about to head back the kingdom i didn't have much of a chose but help everyone instead of sitting and waiting for you"

As he spoke his voice sounded shaky i could tell he probably has been upset for awhile but he sounded tired and harsh. I wonder what's happened since i was asleep or even how long i have been asleep.

"waaahhhh wahhhh"

the sound of a infant broke the soft silence and the kings chair shuffled as he got up to take care of the baby.

Mathew-"oh please its ok your ok baby"

but as i layed there everything just started getting louder and louder until suddenly i felt like i would yell but instead my body let out a soft groan.

Mathew-"Hallow?"

as i groaned the weight on my eyes slowly lifted and i opened my eyes and saw a beige tent celling and as my eyes adjusted i saw the kings face red and crying and holding a small bundle which also seemed upset at my sight.

Mathew-"i..thought..you would never wake up"

he wiped his face as he yelled for the healers to come check on me and make sure i was okay.

"sir hallow i want you to try speaking ok can you do that?"

as i opened my mouth i tried making noise but nothing but a raspy gasp.

"sigh" i was afraid after being asleep this long his vocal cords would be a bit rough hear sit him up a bit and try to get him to talk or make noise ok "

Mathew-"Yes understood could you please take care of the princess while i stay with him?"

"yes my king we will be leaving yell if you need anything ok"

as the women left with the bundle the king was holding and the king came closer leaning me up on a pillow and holding me up so i can see straight ahead.

Mathew-"ok anything hurt all good?

as he asked i tiredly nodded my head which everything still feels off and not the same as though ive been switched with another person which might be the fact I've been cut open.

Mathew-"hey you know you scared me there you've been out for almost 2 weeks it has been hard taking care of the princess when her mother is asleep."

Hallow-"My king don't say that "

his eyebrows furrowed as he looked at me surprised but also sad.

Mathew-"Hallow...when could you speak?...what do you mean"

hallow-"I just tried now my highness now don't ever say that she's yours ok not mine ok she might have my blood but she's half royal so keep her safe"

Mathew-"YOU DONT MEAN THAT?!!"

Hallow-"my king listen I hate that you think I would be respected by your people as the mother of the heir ok but I am not a human I am a beastman!!"

Mathew-"Hallow you are the mother of the heir and my close friend why are you being this way you deserve everything you.."

But before Mathew could finish I heard something slowly enter the tent which Mathew clearly couldn't hear with his normal hearing but I had to be fast as I looked for a weapon I saw a small dagger on Mathews waist. I in the flash took the dagger and held onto Mathews shoulder and threw dead center into the assassin' face he fell with a loud thud but as he did a sharp pain erupted from my stomach and my breath quickened.

Mathew-"Holly shit Hallow?! GUARDS!!!"

as he called loudly he helped lean me back into the small bed and went to check the assassin' now dead on the floor.

"my king we heard you yell what seems to be the problem?"

Mathew-"well why is it that none of you were at your post when I was almost killed by this small goblin assassin?"

"My king we were told to leave by one of the captains so we left"

Mathew-"Really well stay at your post now and please tell me if he comes by again ok"

"Yes My king"

As the guards left out the exit with the goblin body Mathews face looked grim as he stroked his chin.

hallow-"you know its only going to get worse you know I am not meant to be royal ok"

Mathew-"I know ! But I cant just act like you never existed "

hallow-"you can ok listen I am fine I need to heal but fine tell your people she was a maids child and that she died giving birth ok and say nothing about me ok say that you loved her and wanted the child and other stuff my king ok!"

as I yelled Mathew only looked shocked no longer worrying and scared but shocked and confused.

Mathew-"Hallow...you've been planning to do it that way haven't you?"

Hallow-"Yes ever since I found out I knew you would never abandon a child but your kingdom and people ...well never want me so I planed to do it this way ok understand that please its for you all for you"

Mathew-"what about you tho?"

his face looked calm now and sad his eyes a dark hue of the lack of sleep and his crimson hair not as shiny as it usually looked.

Hallow-"Mathew I cant be by your side anymore"

Mathew-"I asked WHAT ABOUT YOU!"

Hallow-"Mathew listen I am this the only way to make me happy is if you are I could not live if you my king my savior was ruined and because of a small mistake please understand that'

At this point I felt like I was pleading he was not listening but as a calm silence filled the tent I knew I had finally got through.

Mathew-"fine...I will leave talk to you when you've healed ok......think about it"

he left without hearing my answer but I know he knows that

it wont change.
