The King And His Fox

chp 1 part 2

"come on hallow let's go!"

The echo of my sister's voice rung in my ear as she skipped happely through the garden near are village the smell of warm dirt and flower filled my nose and my sisters curly white hair played in the sunlight as she jumped around with a small straw doll in her hand.

Her smile as bright as ever showed as she called my name to play

"Hallow!"

She would beg but as I moved closer the more I realized it was my brain playing tricks on me again.

As my brain stird waking up the sight of my dear sister changed to the musty room of the cell I've been in for month and the smell no longer of flowers but death, cold and dark death that filled every inch of that awful cell and tho I've been through this before
I wasn't really alone so I had to focus on the other person inside me.

As it was near time when foxman give birth which right now wasn't the case.
These orcs are terrible and awful and if it wasn't for the baby I would've lost hope already but I have to keep going.

As I looked down my stomach once ripped moved with kicks and flutters as I tried to rub it to calm down I was thirsty and tired and the only small food I got was scarce for me and a baby and made it hard to even stay aware of what happened half the time.

"Fox you have a checkup!"

The loud orc voice woke me  from thoughts as a small older looking beastman came waddling in.

"Hello I am a beast medic may I check the baby?"

His tone sounded sincere but what the orcs have done to me made me cautious of anything even if he's a doctor.
I growled low trying to get away as much as I could but with low food and no nutrition I was at my point so I moved slowly to the nearest wall and hugged my stomach.

"I won't hurt you I just want to make sure it's safe and well ok so please let me I assure your safety"

He approached slowly as to try to keep me from biting him but he seemed nice and kind my guard lower as he approached and I slowly went back to breathing hard and laying against the wall.

The man got close and bright light of magic illuminated his hand as he looked at my stomach.

His face was unclear and I couldn't tell what he was thinking.

"Hey listen your going to die if you stay here I can get you out and safe"

His words hit me like a brick freedom
I thought everyone thought I was dead and or gone who is this man?

Hallow-"hel..p ..me"

The only words I could say as I did he smiled and got up to tell the orc soliders the results of his checkup.

"He's due any day now and he is not the healthiest please feed him more and get him a bed ok my job here is done"

As the old man left feeling of relief filled as I knew the baby was ok and that it was good I was worried that it had dead and had not realized but with everything wrong the news was the best thing to hear.

As I looked at the large bump thoughts of the king's red hair and red eyes flowed into my mind. I missed him and I wish he was here after all the crap he still was my friend and was nice to me he is my king and my child's father.

Thinking in my head I thought back to the dream I had when I was first pregnant and the young girl I saw.
Maybe it's a girl that would be nice as I sadly rubbed the skin my eyes shut slowly as I fell to sleep.

Mathews pov-

A month and a half has passed since hallow was taken half the knights know why and the other half thinks it's a funny rumor. The fact many of us had not slept in days or even eaten made everyone angry and hopeless warfare was hard and not just for the soliders but the nobles to lands upon land lit in flames as women and children killed by the millions  ruined tents sit idley by as soft wind hit my face and the smell of burnt flesh stung my nose.

Compared to the others this was personal the fact Hallow lied got stolen and is probably dead while my lineage lay helpless in some kingdom filled with disgusting trolls made it very hard to care about anything else but the goal ahead.

"My king you must rest please"

A healing maden had come up to me with a worried look on her face and a bloody rag in her hand.

Mathew-"I will soon go back to the soliders"

"My king you must for the kingdoms sake please..."

Mathew-"I said I will maden now please LEAVE!!"

her small body flinched as she turned and ran to the tent in fear of me.

"Wow my king that's a little harsh don't you think"

I turned my head to see one of my 2nd hands clapping slow and sarcastically.

Mathew-"oh shut up and go back to work"

"My king by any chance do you love sir Hallow i know him being with child was a accident but did you like him because that child can't be..."

Mathew-"I know the heir but I made this mistake and I will make sure he and the child are safe and what brings this up sir..?"

"Sir quil I knew you'd forget so understand I just I am curious?"

The questioning look on his face made me feel as tho i was getting integation the fact that a knight was being very open to his king was very out of the blue for me and sent a slight twinge in my eye to act up.

Mathew-"now sir quil this is none of your business now get back to work!"

Quil-"I was just asking cause we found out where there keeping him and I thought it would be a great excuse to know why you...??"

Mathew-"what did you say?!"

Quil-"oh some of us found there hideout and know where sir Hallow is "

His monotone face angered me as I jolted back yelling orders at men and running trying to hurry into get hallow.

The wind blew in my face as the pounding legs of my horse beated fast on the ground .
My friend so close but so far away sent goosebumps down my back I have to see him I need to know he's ok but as trees and road ended the sight of the large ruined castle showed in the distance.

"My king he's there!"

My horse got faster as I heatedly speed  my whip and closer to saving hallow came into view.

Author note-hi everyone I have been going through alot lately and wanted to say I am officially back I know awhile ago I promised to rewrite each story but in good time for now I wish to finish then republish them brand new so look forward to that and message me for anything I am all ears👍
