Bridget's Point of View
A bright light appeared in front of me, so bright it was blinding.
"Bridget!" a little boy's voice screeched my name. It was Xavier. He had the biggest smile on his face as he ran toward me.
I engulfed him in a big hug and spun him around, "hey bud!"
"Isn't this place so pretty?" he asked, looking into my eyes through his glasses, "It's almost as pretty as you!"
"Where are we?" I replied while admiring the scenery. It was pretty. The prettiest place I've ever seen in my life.
"Heaven!" he exclaimed, grabbing my wrist and pulling me, "come on!! Let's go see mom!"
Am I dreaming?
"Heaven?!"
"Yeah, heaven! Now let's go see mom!!" he whined.
"Mommy! Bridget's here!!" he yelled and ran to a woman who was turned around, her back toward us.
Xavier grabbed her hand and let her toward me.
"Mom?"
~~~
Kian's Point of View"BRIDGET! WAKE UP!!" I cried as I pounded my hands on her chest, trying to get her heartbeat back.
"YOU CAN'T DIE!" I hoped that somehow, she'd hear me.
I felt so nauseous and my heart was pounding in my ears. My face is drenched in tears and I'm so scared that I won't be able to get her back.
I put my ear to my chest, hearing a faint heartbeat.
Suddenly, Bridget's head and chest flew forward, coughing and sputtering in my ear.
"Oh my god," I shakily let out a breath.
"Kian..." her voice croaked.
"You're alive," I smiled as I helped her onto my lap.
"I-I died, didn't I?" she asked in such a unconcerned matter.
I didn't say anything.
"I saw heaven," Bridget told me, "I saw my mom, and..." her voice trailed off.
"And, what?" I asked.
"I...I saw Xavier," her voice cracked.
I had no idea what to say. I never met her brother, but I was told about him.
"Babe, are you sure this was real?" I questioned her.
"Of course it was real! I died, and you were here. I died and I saw heaven," she sternly told me.
"Oh my god..."
"What?" I looked at her.
"We need to go to the hospital. Now," she demanded and tried to get up, but instantly fell to the floor.
"Bridget, you can't go. You just--"
"You don't understand!! I need to make sure!" she yelled.
I helped her up and got clothes for her to cover her cuts. Honestly I don't want her to walk into a hospital, where there's people that want to help you, with that showing.
She was wobbly and unstable at first, but eventually she could walk on her own.
We arrived at the hospital, and Bridget ran to the entrance.
"I'm here for Xavier Sawyer!! Please I need to see him!" she screamed as soon as she got inside. She got some looks shot toward her, like she was crazy.
"Where's Xavier Sawyer?!"
"Honey, please calm down," she was told by a nurse.
"Xavier," her voice was quieter, "i-is he..."
The nurse put her arm around Bridget's shoulder and nodded, very slowly.
My heart broke.
Bridget fell to the floor, screaming and crying. She was panting heavily. It was probably really hard to breathe for her.
"I-I want t-to see...him," she stuttered to the nurse, almost inaudible because of all the panick.
"I want to see him!!" she screamed louder, immediately grabbing everyone's attention. The nurse refused to let Bridget see her own brother.
"Ma'am, you're seriously not going to let her see her brother?" I scornfully asked her.
People were starting to get up and move to quieter places because of the havoc Bridget was causing.
"I can't do that...Xavier is dead," she lowered her voice, "We did everything in our power to keep him alive. If she saw him like that, it would be five times worse than what it is now."
"If it was your kid, wouldn't you want to see him? For the last time?" I asked, tilting my head to the side a little.
"Quite frankly, I wouldn't."
I shook my head in disapproval as she walked back over to Bridget. She wants to say goodbye for God's sake, and they can't even let her see him one last time?
I knelt down beside her and moved her hair away from her eyes.
"Babe, let's go to my house, please. I can't stand to see you like this," I asked her.
She shook her head, "not until these fucktards let me see my dam brother!!" she yelled so that the nurses would hear her.
"What room number was he?" I whispered.
"I don't remember..." she mumbled.
"Bridget," my voice hardened, "what room number was he in?"
"I think it w...was two hundred thirty-four, or something like that," Bridget told me.
"I am going to take you there, but you have to get up," I said.
She nodded and grabbed onto my arms to help her up when the hospital doors slid open to reveal a familiar-looking boy.
"It's Chandler," Bridget whispered in my ear.
"I know who he is," I smiled.
He was holding three balloons and some sort of toy.
"Sup, Chandler," I nodded my head.
His eyes immediately went to Bridget. Her face was drained of the color and her eyes were red and puffy.
"Hey what's wrong?" he walked over to us and lifted her chin with his index finger.
"It's Xavier..." her voice was quiet.
"How is he?" he asked.
"He's dead, Chandler."
